Scott's service at WHSmith today was a breath of fresh air. In a time when personalization can be scarce, he brought back the charm of old-fashioned customer service. He engaged me in a genuine conversation about my purchase and made sure my purchase was wrapped with care. It's good to see that services are personalized like it used to be in the old days. Scott's warm demeanor and attention to detail left a lasting impression. Thanks to him, my bookstore visit was a delightful experience.

I got short changed in the past and saw unprofessionalism by the manager on another occasion but never had a problem until a "new" member of staff was processing a payment and messed it up by not paying attention. I checked receipts on the spot, informed him and then another staff member what happened only to be told I had an "attitude" (No, and hardly surprising if I did as the new guy wasn't properly trained).A manager (Lynne) took over but had great distain for me (the customer), so I told her the situation and she promptly told me that I was "barred" (which was amusing).Amazing country this.Customers raise a genuine complaint about the standard of service and they abuse their managerial position in an attempt to save face.I'm hardly ever in there and never had a real problem in there before as I've previously stated, so them barring me will have less than zero impact on me but I will be lodging an official complaint in due course due to the principal of the matter.

Unfortunately, the veneer of politeness is not matched by honesty. I had a voucher and the terms prohibited its use together with another voucher. At the till, the sales clerk added another voucher of her own which invalidated mine. They cost me £5.

I was waiting in the cue and a young man did not stop staring at me, then he started speaking to me in really bad manners, if i was ok, if I did not know how to use the self service machines,.. then I said him i just want to pay to the assistant and he answered imatitating what I said and laughing at my accent really shameless. It was incredible. I do not know his name, I guess he works there because was at the desk but he did not had any uniform and did not wear any face cover, just a tracksuit and he showed a badass attitude. 13 - December - 2020, it was around 3:30 PM

Awful store where they have a guy at the door that is supposed to enforce face mask covering but doesn't do his job.On the day of my visit to the shop there where quite a few customers without face coverings and did not have a lynard making them exempt.

The majority of times I have used these facilities, I have used the self service, which has always been well organised, easy to use, and working. Staff members also have regularly assisted me, whenever I did struggle to use the system. On top of this, whenever I have been unable to use the self service, and instead worked directly with members of staff at the window, they have always been fast, and accurate with their work with me. I have also personally seen them take extra time to assist both the elderly, and customers whose first language isn?t English.Additionally, the staff members have always been polite, and one in particular always makes sure to ask how I am, and recognises me every visit.

Last night at 6.30 pm I walked in your storeon 6174 Sauchiehall St.I had headphones on.When I walked in I saw a good offer on a4 frames I took 4 with me, I approached 2 workers chatting behind a counter (a woman and a man),I took my headphones off and asked where I could find some thick printing paper.(Maybe my foreign accent made them think I was a criminal). The girl kindly showed me, the man on a blue shirt stood there looking at me.I put my music back on, found the paper I wanted and I made my way to the till.On the way there I decided to leave the frames and I put them back EXACTLY on the same shelf and place where I found them.Once I paid on the self service till on my way out a young man jumped in front of me waving to stop.I quickly took my headphones off to see what was going on and the previous blue shirt man shouted" THE TREE FRAMES, WHERE DID YOU PUT THEM?"I WAS SO EMBARRASSED, I saw, other customer's pale faces that were pretending they didn't see hear anything and acted casual.I quitely asked him "do you think I'm stealing A4 frames?"Your VERY PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED worker shouted firmly in the finest Glasgow accent "I SHOUTED AT YOU THREE TIMES,WHERE DID YOU PUT THE FRAMES?"At that point I walked with him to where he supposed to have checked before trying to play the Cop.He saw the frames where back on the designated shelf area and just replied"sorry about that" and he walked away.I left the store very embarassed thinking of the other customers that might've thought that I was stealing A4 Frames.Who steals plastic A4 frames?I decided to walk back in the store return the A4 paper I previously purchased to a girl at the till more embarrassed than me, and went to Paperchase where nobody SHOUTED at me.Now I don't want to teach you how to run your store, but you should seriously to cosider to train to who you hiring on how to speak to people."You don't SHOUT at people , You talk to people, and if you are not 100% sure of what you are doing you approach people with appropriate manner,(customer service) and ask kindly ,"excuse me sir can you show me where did you put those frames that you had in your hand earlier?"."Im pretty sure its all recorded by you security cameras so please look at the footage from 6.30 pm to 6.50pm

This store has really went down hill over the years. They have some weird low energy lighting in place. It?s so dark it takes your eyes time to adjust when entering and leaving. It leaves the whole place feeling dark and grim and just wanting to leave rather than spend any time there browsing. Newer staff seem pretty clueless and one older woman at the from tills always seems resentful if you ask to be served instead off using the self service tills. Post office off late seems overwhelmed by customers yet few staff. Staff informed me in enquiring that Smith?s have removed the Post Office Manager and Assistant Manager role and cut staffs hours. No wonder it?s not being managed properly. I?m starting too avoid going here now unless it?s absolutely essential.
