Voltaire & Rousseau is a bookshop like no other I have been too. Truly a unique shop, bursting at the seams with books. You can pick up a lot of old fascinating books, at cheap prices. Well worth a visit! It is quite chaotic, but in the best way possible.

It's such a great place. They have an excellent variety of books at very good prices. I only got three because I didn't have more space in my backpack, but I could have easily left with many, many more.

A proper old-fashioned bookshop with a massive & wide-ranging selection of stock at quite modest prices. The slightly haphazard arrangement internally makes rooting through piles of volumes an even more rewarding experience. The only limiting factor, is how much can you carry away in one go! Tucked away in secluded little courtyard just off the Great Western Road, I can thoroughly recommend it as one of the hidden treasures of Glasgow.

You will work for your finds! Some enjoy that some do not. If im honest I did expect the prices to be lower, having said that they aren't unreasonable or extortionate. You will find something, if that be the book you were lookinb for or something way out left field that you never knew existed. An impressive shelf/floor stacks of science fiction...some of those old unknown Robert A. ones or Isaacs.Overall a nice quite place to spend a while digging.I would say not wheelchair accessible due to lack of room. Easy to find the entrance. Easy to get to. Parking on the street.

Visiting Voltaire and Rousseau Bookstore with your son is an experience like no other. The stacks of books tower high, each one a potential hidden gem waiting to be discovered. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make browsing a joy. And let's not forget the resident cat, who adds to the charm. It's a place where you can easily lose track of time as you immerse yourself in the written word. If you're a book lover, this store is a must-visit. Whether you're searching for a specific title or just want to get lost in a good read, Voltaire and Rousseau won't disappoint.

Unique and well established bookshop with piles and piles and piles of books grouped by category. Quite breathtaking. However to end up findings books would have taken me all day and the others I was with would not be best pleased. Cute with cats but also a smell of cat food very present.

Not your usual bookshop. The books aren't arranged but that is the beauty of it. You have to find the books you want from the piles of books there which I love. Plus it is cost effective. Must go for book lovers.

Alladin's cave bookshop. Cosy atmosphere, walls and walls of books. However some you cannot get to, or even see for fear of an avalanche. Sparce in a few genre, but a fun way for spend an hour. Rather tight space wise. Would recommend.

Do you love searching through towering mountains of books, like a literary treasure hunter? Accompanied by the gorgeous shop cat that is always snoozing about and the people around you on similar missions.I adore coming here when I have twenty minutes to spare and have just finished a book. Who knows what you?ll find :)

Extremely disappointing buyer behaviour. We were clearing my father-in-law?s house with approx. 4500 books some of which were quite valuable. The buyer came and gave us a low lot price which we accepted based on them taking all of the books, valuable and less valuable. They came twice and took the more valuable books after which they refused to come back for the remaining, less valuable, books. This left us with several thousand books to dispose of before we could sell the property which took a lot of time, effort and emotional turmoil.
