In an ever changing world of commerce it is a comfort that there remains a constant in the Glasgow West End. Roots and Fruits was a pioneer in the services it brought to the consumer and has been a Glasgow institution for many years. I remember it as a humble veg shop when I was a student a few decades back and then a regular supplier when I was a chef. I was even privileged to have worked there for a while. It has grown into something rather impressive without letting go of it's 'roots'. A family I was overjoyed to see again, when I was able to pop in. I love these folk!

There are delivery vans and lorries constantly blocking the bus lane when it is in use and worse quite often double parked casuing obstruction to cars travelling out of Glasgow during morning commute hours. This has been reported to the council but I doubt they will take any action.

Organic Veg is expensive and when I weighed the broccoli and courgette at home found out I'm being charged 50g for each item over which means the scales are dodgy or uncalibrated. Fed up of being over charged for weighed items.

The beautiful fruit basket with biscuits and flowers was so much appreciated. Thanks Phil and Roots, Fruits & Flowers staff for making it so lovely and getting it there on the same day. Brilliant service.

A beautiful selection of fruit & vegetables, unfortunately the organic section is very small and sadly not the greatest choice of products for rather high prices. The restaurant & breads look very yummy :)

Popped in for some bits and pieces, great prices and lovely staff, nice to be able to buy individual fruit or veg instead of a whole pack that i would not use on my own, will definitely return ????

Wonderful to have a selection of good organic produce but some ridiculous policies like charging an extra 50p if you want your bit of quiche warm ?? And staff could be a bit more friendly

I love being able to go here and get quality products for my health, sure some of the general products are cheaper elsewhere but we need to support stores like this becuase they sell things bigger supermarkets don't

This is a must see part of tl any visit to Glasgow. The place is a real gem - full of flowers, an incredible assortment of healthy and wholesome foodstuffs, a lovely cafe and a takeaway area to die for. Try the mixed salad bowl. Especially the wild rice and tamarind. Wow. Excellent quiches, the cinnamon buns are like delicious clouds and appreciated the Suma kombucha range. Also the best sausage roll I've had in years.
