Rettie Shawlands provided an excellent service in my recent flat sale. Prompt and informative responses to my queries, clear info re market rates, always willing to help and delighted with the value they achieved in the sale. It took only 48 hours from advert to accepting an offer, with the agent doing everything they could to ensure the sale went through as quickly and smoothly as possible. Having used Rettie as my lettings agency for 5 years, where they performed brilliantly throughout that time, I wanted to see if they could provide a similarly excellent service in a sale, and they exceeded my expectation. I have had such great service from Retties and would def recommend them to anyone wanting to either let a property or sell it.

As always, we had a fantastic time dealing with Rettie. The initial appraisal was brilliant and accurate about what we could expect cost-wise, the surveyor they supplied was knowledgable and helpful, and everyone in the office was communicative and extremely on it. We will be using them again later in the year.

Absolutely brilliant sales team, Alice in particular was superb. She got us through the whole process with a friendly, calm manner and made the whole experience of selling our home much easier than expected - thankyou.

Sold my flat with Rettie Shawlands this week, the whole process was smooth from start to finish, with everything from valuation to photos, home report and marketing done in a timely manor. There was excellent communication from Rettie daily throughout the whole process. Alice and Grace were a joy to deal with. Overall I feel they obtained a great price for my property - would highly recommend!

Do not use - no morals whatsoever and will say or do whatever is needed to increase an offer and close a sale. We were intentionally mislead and given false information in order to negotiate on sale price and ultimately close the sale.We purchased a property via Alice Beedham at Rettie & Co., moving in in March 23. There were issues with the property that we were clear we wouldn't provide a final offer or close until settled/confirmed.- Repairs required to a garden brick boundary wall:This was confirmed as repaired by Alice. On entry, the wall had collapsed and we are still in the process of trying to sort this out with the seller. This had collapsed in Dec, we completed the sale in Feb.- Ceiling lighting in front rooms:There were wires in the ceiling of the living room, bedroom and hall but no fittings were in place. Given lots of original cornicing and features, it was important to us that these wires were live before we made an offer as we understood the anticipated extent of the work required if they weren't.Alice confirmed that these were live and that the seller had removed the fittings themselves as they wished to keep them as they were expensive. Based on this we made an offer, they asked for £5k more - that was accepted. We started renovating it was confirmed that these wires were NOT LIVE.After speaking with multiple electricians we found one who was willing to take on the work. We requested a DSAR from Rettie & Co. and engaged in a complaints process with their Compliance Manager, Fiona Robb.Fiona investigated and confirmed that Alice 'could not recall' the conversations, although there are multiple clear email threads to show that the conversation was had (albeit Alice always wanted to talk on the phone, obviously to conceal the lies we were being told if ever challenged). On that basis Fiona confirmed compensation was due, this was a weight off our shoulders and gave some confidence back to us re. Rettie & co. as a brand. Fiona wanted their own electrician to attend to provide a further quote which we of course understood and agreed to, during this process she had a very abrupt call with our electrician and was exceptionally rude to him to the point he was on the brink of telling us he didn't want the work - we understand due diligence is needed during investigations however you don't need to be rude in the process.Although their electrician only looked from floor level and didn't look closely at the ceilings or wires, his quote came back consistent with what we had received. However she then did a complete u-turn on the basis that 'there has never been any wiring in the roofs in these rooms'.I shared pictures that had already been shared, showing wiring clearly visible hanging from the areas we discussed. Fiona still continues to tell us there is no wiring and never has been... The mind boggles how she can stand by this position after seeing the wires herself. I can only expect this is on instruction from someone else at Rettie to avoid paying what is due. How impartial on that basis does the Compliance team operate at Rettie? Isn't this is legally required function with boundaries re. doing what is right? To confirm - Fiona's position, and reason for refusing our complaint is there is no wiring in the ceiling and there never has been... The pictures speak for themselves.Even if there wasn't any wiring (which everyone can see there is) - the point is, we were manipulated and lied to in order to increase what we were willing to offer and ultimately close the sale. Alice lied to us throughout the process by telling us there was suitable wiring in the roof for lights to be hung, and Fiona's behaviour since we lodged the complaint shows a complete disregard for 'what is right' and instead a clear avoidance of paying what is due to a proven mis-sell of a property in order to negotiate and close a sale.I copied Simon Rettie (Rettie Managing Director, and member of Bank of England) in to my last email to Fiona - I remain hopeful h
