Handed in some jigsaws and books today. Not even an acknowledgement or thank you. I will now donate to another charity.

Yet another charity shop in this part of the Southside, there's definitely no shortage of them here! This one if for a great cause and as an animal lover I just can't resist. It has a good range of items and they are always changing their window displays. I've often seen beautiful items of clothing on the mannequins many of which look brand new. They also have a selection of shoes, bags and accessories so if you're looking for something unusual then you might strike gold in here! It's always relatively busy here too which is good too see, I guess their wide range of items keeps the animal lovers coming back for more. I'm gutted as I didn't see the gorilla with the buns or the constipated dog on my visits, they must have got snapped right up!

Again the Doctor Doolittle in me comes to the fore, and as soon as I see that it's our four-legged friends who benefit from this store, I'm immediately sold. Whilst the charity shops in town and up the West End have become hangouts for trustafarians and fashionistas, who think that spending £30 on a pair of holey old tights from World War 2 will fool the public into thinking they care about poor people, in the South Side the charity stores are that little bit more honest. Nothing too fashionable, books, toys and ornaments etc. Sadly I didn't get to witness the gorilla with the pert, glistening buttocks on my visit as he must've been sold, but I did see a cute little porcelain dog that looked like it was constipated. A charming little shop, and all for a good cause.

Another fine addition to the high quality of charity shops in this area. With a good selection of guys clothes, none vintage but good quality and prices all the same, a good range of books, cds etc and some really rather funky new woolly hats for around 3 -4 quid, this place gets it just about right. Now in my humble opinion the south side is the new west end when it comes to old school charity shopping....ok the vintage scene ain't as all encompassing as it is in the west end, but the regular Joe charity shopping is right up there. PDSA, good selection of clothes...check. fine range of reasonably priced books..check. Odd assortment of ornaments old and new including a gorilla with the most proud set of buttocks i have ever seen...check. Resident Granny calling you Dear....check. This place is a 3.5 on the maverick scale.
