We?ve been coming to Oro in Shawlands for years now, and it?s genuinely one of our favourite places to eat. The food has always been consistently amazing! Proper Italian dishes that are full of flavour and always beautifully made. From pasta to pizza, everything is top quality.
What really makes Oro stand out though is the staff. They?re always so kind, friendly, and welcoming, and they treat my family with genuine care every time we visit. It never feels like just another restaurant meal?it feels like we?re being looked after. We?ve never had a single bad experience, and that says a lot in all the years we?ve been going.
If you?re looking for authentic Italian food in the Southside with lovely service and a great atmosphere, you can?t go wrong with Oro.

Always booked out and with good reason. We?ve tried many things off the large menu and never been disappointed. The service is consistently good. It?s always a safe bet that you will have a great night out here.

It was an amazing experience to dine in this restaurant, we enjoyed both our meals and the service and my husband is very picky with places to eat and the food but he can?t stop talking about this restaurant.

This place is lovely and the food was perfect, the staff were very friendly and always checked in with you. Staff seen me struggling to cut my son?s pizza and offered to cut it for us which was a good touch that they paid attention to their customers. I had the bruschetta to start which was lovely and fresh, then arrabbiata pasta for my main and again it was very nice. Portion sizes were perfect.

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Oro ? without a doubt one of Glasgow?s true culinary gems. This is not just a pizzeria ? it?s a story, a legacy, and a love letter to Italian craftsmanship.
Run by Alfredo, a fourth-generation pizzaiolo with pizza in his blood, every bite carries the depth of tradition and the precision of mastery. You can truly feel his heritage in the dough ? perfectly blistered, airy, and deeply satisfying. His partner Anna, equally warm and gracious, brings a touch of elegance and hospitality that turns the entire meal into something memorable.
The ingredients are fresh, the combinations thoughtful, and the execution flawless. From the rich, wood-fired classics to more daring seasonal specials, everything is treated with care and respect.
Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates the art of pizza done right, where passion meets tradition ? and flavor sings.

Unfortunately, our visit was quite disappointing. I ordered the chicken risotto and asked for a tiramisu martini but was mistakenly given an espresso martini instead, which I really didn?t enjoy. The drink was corrected, but even the tiramisu martini was just as unpleasant.
The food was incredibly salty across the entire table, so much so that I couldn?t finish my meal, and even my child struggled to eat theirs. We went through all the table water just trying to handle how overpowering it was. It felt like a real waste. Thankfully, the strawberry daiquiri was lovely, and my partner kindly shared his drink with me.
Shockingly, no one checked in on us during the meal to see if everything was okay, and at no point were we asked if we had any allergies ? which is a basic and important part of service, especially when dining with a child.
Overall, we left feeling really underwhelmed and disappointed after looking forward to what should?ve been a nice evening out.

Food was extremely over-priced compared to the quality of what is delivered. Its a very nice looking restaurant, completely undermined by the poor customer service; in particular, an older gentleman who I can only assume is the manager, who showed a terrible, condescending attitude and utter contempt when asked questions or pulled up about it. Avoid.

If you have dietary requirements, don?t be surprised if the older male waiter doesn?t take you seriously, or try and accommodate and let you know what could be altered for you. I was kept being told ?you can?t have this, you can?t have that? etc, and when he handed me the menu, he said ?I don?t think there?s anything for you here?. Both my friend and I felt unwell in the evening, will not be going back. Very expensive for what it is. It?s a shame, cause the actual restaurant is beautiful inside.
