This place was recommended by a friend and so I made the lengthy journey from Ayr to get here however, the shop assistant working today was incredibly standoffish and clearly didn?t want the custom. She was condescending, rude and lacks the social skills required to serve the public as previous reviews have mentioned. I?ll likely never return.

The spring inside the lobster clasp of my white gold bracelet broke. Unfortunately, all the jewellers I approached said it was unrepairable and would have to be replaced by a plain design lobster clasp. Since the design of the clasp was fundamental to the aesthetic of the bracelet I decided to take it to Martins (having dealt with them before). Unfortunately, the lady gave the same answer ? the clasp was unrepairable but they could try to source a sympathetic one. I left it with them for a quotation. On phoning for an update the gentleman I spoke to said he would like to try to replace the spring on the clasp but couldn?t guarantee he would be successful. I gladly took him up on his offer and was delighted when the repair was a success. I would highly recommend Martins for any repairs.

My father and I have used this jeweller for many years and always receive excellent service from him. However both my Father and I visited separately this week agreed the shop assistant working there should attend Customer Care classes . She is condescending, rude and lacks the social skills required to serve the public.
I was about to purchase some earrings and a bracelet when I visited, but decided I would take my business elsewhere .
It?s unfortunate as the professional we usually dealt with could not have been more helpful and friendly.

My family has used this jeweller for over 20 years, but I?ve had 2 really negative experiences with the female staff member.
She was rude and dismissive over the phone last year when I phoned to ask more about the process of getting my engagement ring valued. I was told ?just bring your ring in? and when I dropped it off, the jeweller advised that the valuation could not be completed without the certificate (which was why I phoned ahead to understand the process before making the journey there). Really positive experience with the jeweller, who completed the valuation and couldn?t have been nicer.
I decided to return this week to enquire about one ring being resized and another being reset. I was looking for a bit of advice and guidance about my options. I was quite shocked at how the female member of staff spoke to me? she essentially told me to go and get both services done at a jeweller in the City Centre? I needed my ring resize to be completed within a 2-week period which they couldn?t facilitate (totally understandable) however, there was no timescale I needed to work towards for the ring reset? and I was prepared to pay whatever price to have it reset/remodelled. She held one ring under the microscope and said (quite cheekily) ?where did you get this??? Not sure how that?s relevant..:

Martin health checked a watch I bought online to confirm authenticity, replaced 2 parts and re-sized the bracelet. Very knowledgeable, incredibly friendly and efficient. Will be back when my service is due. Highly recommend
