“Great store, delightful variety of Asian products. I am from the England/Scotland border, so it's a fair way to travel for the products I'd like to buy. If this store had an online service, I would definitely order from them.”

“In an ever changing world of commerce it is a comfort that there remains a constant in the Glasgow West End. Roots and Fruits was a pioneer in the services it brought to the consumer and has been a Glasgow institution for many years. I remember it as a humble veg shop when I was a student a few decades back and then a regular supplier when I was a chef. I was even privileged to have worked there for a while. It has grown into something rather impressive without letting go of it's 'roots'. A family I was overjoyed to see again, when I was able to pop in. I love these folk!”

“We’ve been coming to Oro in Shawlands for years now, and it’s genuinely one of our favourite places to eat. The food has always been consistently amazing! Proper Italian dishes that are full of flavour and always beautifully made. From pasta to pizza, everything is top quality.

What really makes Oro stand out though is the staff. They’re always so kind, friendly, and welcoming, and they treat my family with genuine care every time we visit. It never feels like just another restaurant meal—it feels like we’re being looked after. We’ve never had a single bad experience, and that says a lot in all the years we’ve been going.

If you’re looking for authentic Italian food in the Southside with lovely service and a great atmosphere, you can’t go wrong with Oro.”

“A good Lidl store that's got the usual range of their products.

The middle of Lidl is always a surprise - you never know what you're going to find there.”

“Busy. Good food. I like the app that records what I bought.
Self service tills are better than Tesco's: they beep to record the product and beep again when the item is on the tray. Contactless card works better too.”

“Situated in the centre of town this is a good place for a drink and a meal. Limited menu and not many tables. Noted that lots of entertainment on during the week.”

“Great place to shop with lots of bargains to be had. The store is extremely clean and tidy and there are lots of checkouts so waiting time is reduced. The staff are always courteous, friendly and helpful. Particularly good for seasonal items like gardening, Easter, Halloween, Christmas at very good prices. I buy a lot of cleaning products there as they're often cheaper than supermarkets.”

“Tiny store selling produce, natural foods, and some prepared to-go items and pastries. I stopped in at the end of my day for some quick dinner and found a lovely vegan hand pie which the clerk heated for me. There’s no seating but I brought my food to eat on a bench at the lovely nearby Kelvingrove Park.”

“I always love my visits to Lidl. They sell the tastiest Greek coconut flavour and honey flavoured yoghurt's, for way under a pound for a large tub. Also their fruit \\u0026 veg is very cheap and well worth purchasing. Very fresh! Love Lidl's x”

“The store is far too small to accommodate the number of people who stand at the narrowest places having a chat as if the long lost friends haven't been seen for years. Some trolleys still in use run sideways.”

“Great Aldi store for a week's grocery shop. All the fruit and veg seems very fresh, and I love a lot of the Essentials range of foods.

The Special Buys can be quite good - can include things like nonstick pans, collapsible buckets, screwdriver sets and bedding. Some really great bargains in there, and have purchased a good few before myself.”

“Í bought three 24 packs of cans of coke and one of the staff carried them out to my taxi for me because I couldn't lift them. I was extremely impressed by the level of customer service from the employees who wrote polite and willing to give you a hand with anything with a cheery smile and a little bit of small talk to put the customers at ease”

“Was at farmfoods for some breakfast & OJ. There wasn't any potatoe scones left but that a delivery truck had just been unloaded. I had already mentioned I was looking for the scones but didn't want to be cheeky and ask for someone to go back and get me some. Just as I was leaving the assistant I 1st spoke to shouted me back as I was leaving. As he had went back of his own accord and got me some. I thanked him and said it was very much appreciated.I know it's there job but I have been to other shops nearby and they just thob you of or hum&haw about it. This assistant couldn't be anymore helpful as well as the good manors of the tiller who checked my shopping out. I recommend farmfoods to anyone as it is good value. It has most of what you need although there isn't a butcher area. Other than that it's great and as I said staff are polite and very helpful. Will be back”

“If you need frozen food then this is the place for you. It even has fresh refrigerated food. It even, unbelievably, has food stored at an ambient temperature. And, plot twist, non-food items too. In all seriousness, Iceland is pretty underrated. This store has a decent range of things at good prices. Plenty of deals and nice staff at the tills. Give it a try.”
