“I actually live in salvation army hostel wallace of campsie... it has mice... I have bought with my own money poisonous tablets for them to enjoy... hopefully that gets rid of the mice but living with them has affected my mental health and I feel that because it was not upto a decent standard that my service charge arrears should be wiped since I have been living with this problem for months now and it has really affected me mentally.”

“My husband was diagnosed of Parkinsons disease 2 years ago, when he was 49. He had a stooped posture, tremors, right arm does not move and also a pulsating feeling in his body. He was placed on Senemet for 8 months and then Sifrol was introduced and replaced the Senemet, during this time span he was also diagnosed with dementia. He started having hallucinations, lost touch with reality. Suspecting it was the medication I took him off the Siferol (with the doctor’s knowledge) and started him on PD-5 natural herbal formula we ordered from AKNNI HERBAL CENTRE, his symptoms totally declined over a 3 weeks use of the AKANNI HERBAL Parkinson's disease natural herbal formula. He is now almost 51 and doing very well, the disease is totally reversed! (Visit w w w.aknniherbscentre .com)”

“Absolute top notch quality customer service from an older looking chap named scott. Very well dressed and obviously well educated as he could tell me the difference between a pastel drawing and a watercolour. I wish all barnardos had a scott in them. They should change the name to scotts. Will be back.”

“I have racked my brain for the best way to encapsulate the utter goodness of this little charity shop, and I don't think I can put it better than this: I. Now. Volunteer. Here. If you too live for vintage or vintage-inspired bargains - get Barnardo's, Merchant City on your People To Pester On A Weekly Basis list. The store proper is really well-presented and regularly refreshed - I've bought a few pairs of shoes and always admire the little curated accessory displays adorning each of the clothing racks. BUT alas, the real gold awaits. Mosey on through to the back and you'll encounter a room that looks suspiciously like a staff-only area; marked with little picture frames spelling V I N T A G E. It's okay, you needn't loiter about outside this room, radiating a sort of unspoken question to staff "can I, err... go in there?" Yes! You can! Go! Get in! While some visits to this little Room of Wonders have been fruitless, others have served up bag loads of yesteryear goodies! Dresses tend to be priced £8.99/£9.99, though you might find something at £6.99 too. Vintage shoes and hats are also really well priced, though bags are a little hit and miss. I picked up a stunning, hand-embroidered number which, while well-worth £24.99 in the Grand Scheme of the Universe, probably broke my charity-store-bargain-hunting limit. I'd happier grab one of the £3.99-£6.99 alternatives. Not too much in the way of scarves and there is a little collection of vintage brooches and jewellery by the cash register. Now, don't go thinking you've finished there! (phew, that was close!) Leave your gathered goodies with staff at the counter, head outside and take a good gander through the outside windows. There's a vintage display in the rear side window with a swag of brooches, hats, bags and shoes to feast your eyes on too. You're welcome.”
