I recently had a fish supper that, while freshly prepared, left me underwhelmed. The chips were nice crispy and the batter on the fish was decent. However, the fish itself was a big letdown. The fillets were extremely thin, almost like they?d been sliced in half to stretch portions, which really took away from the overall experience. I had suppers from this place and it was one of best in area.

Very bad customer service and rude never smiles at customers face i am a customer that actually paid for food or to eat there and then an old lady that works there asked me for money if I wanted to sit and eat my food on a chair at the place and I have paid for my food but yet she wants me to pay if I wanted to sit and eat there so disappointed and be very sure this is going all over social media because the old woman there disrespected me in front of all people that were there .

I never leave a bad review but was really disappointed, have been going there for years and never had a issue.
First sign ...was asked if we wanted extras ...like peas mushy peas ,thought that always came with the fish tea ?
The fish tea i had was served on a take away paper tray ( the last time it was a plate)
The fish was plonked on the top . Would have to hold the fish to eat the chips unfortunately that could be done without the fish breaking or crumpling it was solid ...bad sign
I asked for another carton so that I could put the fish on it . The fish I'm sure was frozen and not battered and fried ...was too even and flat , not like a crispy batter you would normally get on a freshly battered fish and it was tasteless like frozen fish is . Hubby got the breaded one , just the same but worse, the batter was solid, brick hard with thin fish in the middle , he said it was tasteless .Watching him eat from 2 carton /trays was really awkward .
Chips not like they used to be at all ...were just ok
Couldn't drink the tea ,was horrible, in what seemed like a plastic picnic mug .
The service was just ok , the young girl did ask if everything was OK. I couldn't answer, my hubby said yes as he would never complain anywhere. I hate complaining too. Just to clarify i ate the fish and left some chips and bread , we both work full time and hadn't eaten since 1pm it was 7.30 we had to eat something. i should have taken photos of the fish, because the photos on here look nothing like the fish we had . I'm not sure if this is the norm now or because it was late in the day...
The sting was £30 and the receipt was served on a REAL plate .......im a great tipper i always leave more than enough ,for the first time ever I did not tip .

Overpriced for average quality food. £5.50 for a deep fried mars bar is disgusting and the portion sizes are embarrassing

Fish and chips for two with tea and bread and butter mushy peas great value best mushyies I've had in a long while lady serving was lovely nice to us and everyone she served smiling and friendly

We visited here on Sunday on our way back to England- My husband had a Fish tea - which was first class , although he couldn?t eat it all - the atmosphere was lovely due to the fabulous staff that work here , including Nicole who was very helpful and friendly- Tom & Amanda , Silloth

Absolutely fabulous chip shop, staff are nice and friendly, food is excellent cooked fresh when you order it. would recommend if you have not tried it.

Fantastic Fish and Chip suppers on Friday 10th January. The fish in breadcrumbs and in batter was so fresh and cooked perfectly. The service from the team was top notch. All very friendly and helpful. A special shout out to our waitress Nicolle who was superb. Thanks Nicolle you were brilliant. We'll definitely be back Neill and John

Went in at 8.45pm on 28th December for a large chips and a chips and curry, the chips were awful!!!
