A long time since i had been here and had forgotten how marvellous it is.
The decor is stunning with a real comfy, welcoming old style trattoria feel.In this one time Glasgow tram hub dating back to Victorian times. Food is superb.I had a beautiful antipasti platter with cold cuts, salad, olives, peppers and onions.
My friend had two large slices of garlic bread.
My main Course was beef cheek pie with roast potatoes and veg in a beef jus. My friends Lasagne was also excellent. No room for desserts we finished off with two cappuccinos The bill was £40.
Tony and his staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. An evening return visit is definitely on the cards.?8/8/25. It's taken a while to return. Everything as marvellous as ever. Tonight, minestrone soup starter. Beef cheekwith pasta this time and my friend had Spaghetti Carbonara. Latte to follow, a real treat. Do try for yourself.

Have eaten (socialised) in BattlefieldRest since it opened 30+ years ago. Appreciate Glasgow has many great restaurants but this is MY FAVOURITE EATERIE (possibly in the world) Hospitality & Grub at its Best!

Cosy atmosphere with friendly hosts. Tasty, comforting Italian food with good portions. The open ravioli with smoked haddock was delicious.

It was a lunch visit after many years but the food and service was still excellent. We were advised it was a quiet day but evenings are always busy. Parking is maybe not the best but we luckily got a nearby space.

Stopped in to meet a friend and have a chat and coffee, friendly and accommodating staff. Coffee came with a biscuit, I love it when a business does this kind of little extra. Chatted that much, that we decided to have an impromptu lunch, which was delicious. Good value for money, too. Would recommend.

Was here with a group of 10 people from Sweden. Absolutely fantastic restaurant, fantastically good food, good and pleasant service and an atmosphere like an Italian family dinner. We all ate pasta dishes of different kinds and everyone was equally satisfied. This was the best food and the best night of the whole week we were in Scotland.

Off to Italy next week, this place sets the bar high for Italian food. Excellent fish dishes, one of the best pizzas I?ve eaten. Great start, great lunch.
