Needed to get new specs ordered as old pair disintegrating. No appointment but within half an hour I was walking out the place having been fitted and ordered a new pair. Fair enough, I'm an existing customer and they had me on record but still pretty good customer service. Rebecca was great.

Should have gone to ?BOOTS?, not specsavers.I thought specsavers might be a good place to go for a stress-free experience, but i will never go there again. It wasn't 2 for 1, more like buy 1 and get a whole bunch of extra stress FOR free.Had my eyes tested and paid good money for more expensive glasses,(2 for 1 offer) & sometime after receiving the first pair to try out, and after suddenly having sight problems with one eye, (flashing lights, floaters, ect, which I understood where possible symptoms of a torn retina and required urgent checking by an optician), I contacted Specsavers again &explained my symptoms who booked me in for the earliest appointment available a week later, but after I called them back later that day to cancel the appointment, as I had managed to arrange an immediate appointment at Boots straight away, (who seem to regard the matter as urgent), specsavers then change their tune and said, ?oh, we could have fitted you in today also?.After getting the problem looked into at Boots, including full eye testing for glasses, (a much less stressful environment with far less people running about the place and much more patient), I later returned to Specsavers to discuss the second pair of glasses still outstanding and mentioned the boots eye test results showing a requirement for different strength glasses, and was told by the member of staff at Specsavers that, ?there wasn't a lot of difference between the two results and was basically the same?.Details of the second pair of glasses where then agreed, along with an arranged appointment date for collection,A couple of days before my appointment, due to extremely stressful and difficult circumstances, requiring all my attention to be focused elsewhere, I called to cancel the appointment, explaining I'd be unable to attend or deal with this at the moment and asked not to be bothered over the next day or so, the very next day they called not once, but twice, right at the moment I was having to sort out some sensitive personal matters, and they were just calling to arrange a new appointment, something which could easily have waited.I called to complain stating I'd lost trust in them and didn't want to go back to the Galashiels store again, and gave them the opportunity to just send me the second pair of glasses which had been paid for and where ready for collection, this was well over a month ago and no glasses have arrived, perhaps they've sold them again to another customer ?They don't seem to listen when they should.They don't seem to regard certain symptoms as urgent when they should.The eye test result I had was different from Boots.There's far too much activity around you when you're trying to make decisions.They also didn't detail my receipt when they said they would.& IT WASNT 2 FOR 1, AS THEY WONT EVEN JUST SEND OUT THE 2ND PAIR I PAID FOR 7 MONTHS AGO.SHOULD HAVE GONE TO ?BOOTS?.Specsavers has already been given the full details regarding my complaint I made, and I've made it clear that I do not wish to have anything further to do with them.if they really wanted to try and make amends, you would have thought that they would have just sent the second pair of glasses that has been paid for, but they haven't done so.Update:Well over a year later & i've still not got my second pair of glasses, ( so it's definitely buy one and get nothing else free),they've even had the nerve to send me a recent letter inviting me to book an appointment for an up-to-date eye test, despite the fact I've previously made it quite clear last year that I wouldn't be coming back and not to bother me again, it's quite pathetic, maybe it's time they moved into the ear testing business & got their own lugs checked out first.As I said above in my original review, "They Don't listen when they should"

I have received my next order of contact lenses in my old prescription so still not able to wear new glasses as don?t want to keep changing prescription. This is despite checking and being reassured new lenses would be new prescription. Call to lenses call centre and assurance someone would call me to resolve but no further communication from Specsavers

First of all the staff s very gid at askin u if they can help u. Louise helped me wth my glasses which I love. N cloe helped me wth making sure my glasses fitted me n thn be comfortable wth thm on. I appreciated thr help, n hv a gid bleather wth thm. I hv been wth specsavers 4 a gid few yrs now, n I still thnk they r a grt bunch of staff. I will b bk sumtime time 4 another pair of glasses. THNKU VERY MUCH. CONNIE ??

After being a Specsavers customer for over 25 years (Dunfermline and Galashiels) I can safely say that all members of my family will not be returning to the Galashiels store after a member of staff was given a right ticking off by the optician in front of us, very unprofessional. I was mortified and felt so sorry for the staff member.

This visit went very well and the optician and staff were proficient and helpful (unlike my visit with Mr Fox which was dreadful). New Glasses are fine and new contact lenses are much better Thanks

Prefer if sales assistants didn't have to read a script of how the price is X and how they can reduce it to Y. Your shops are open plan I was in for an eye test not hearing. I came in to buy glasses not listen to a play. The price is the price - just tell me.Also, don't hand me a leaflet promising entry into a draw then not follow up with the email. I don't expect to win but I'm paying for the piece of paper (and so is the environment). You confirmed the appointment by email so just send an email. I'd already purchased the glasses I can only wear one pair. Staff were good.

Made an appointment for contact lenses check at Galashiels. Day before was called to say it wasn?t due. Then received an email a month later to say my contact lenses subscription would be cancelled if I didn?t make an appointment for a check within 7 days. No wonder so many people are going to local opticians!!!

Recently moved to the Borders and transferred from Specsavers in Louth, Lincolnshire. It is always different when you move from a branch where you have known all the staff but I have to say Galashiels team have been most helpful and made the transfer of records very smooth and arranged the check up I needed quickly and at a time that suited me. New specs are great; Alex in particular was very helpful. Thank you

Despite paying £149 for the frames they are not worth the money. I commented when they were fitted that they were loose was assure they were ok and they continue to get worse. Will be looking elsewhere for glasses in the future. Staff were friendly.

Had severe infection in left eye went in on Tuesday 25th on the off chance they could have a look at it, they managed to fit me in and had a good look at my eye, they then phoned and referred me to Borders General Hospital, cannot praise all the staff that dealt with me highly enough, great service, thank you so much.
