Galbraith Galashiels, are the letting agents for the property that i was renting recently, in Galashiels.From the onset, i have found them to be very professional in carrying out there duties, and have been friendly and attentive, to any requests that i have made over the 2 years or more,of my occupation. The initial validation of references, was very thorough, and the initial inspection, and signing of the lease, was done easily, made very simple, by friendly staff. During the letting period, they have conducted regular statuary checks of the premises, ensuring a safe place to live. There have been several instances of maintenance that have been carried out, without any prompting or requests from myself, to improve the property. On my departure at the end of the tenancy, i found the staff to be very helpful, and i have always been happy for them, or any of the trades that required entry, to do so, without me being present. Refund on over payment of rent, and deposit, were quickly paid back into my bank account. Both Yvonne Keddie, and Ashley Hogg, have been exceptional as representatives of Galbraiths, and i would not hesitate to recommend the company in the future.

I used Galbraith when I was first moved to the Borders last year. They were extremely helpful, being both friendly and professional throughout the duration I rented from them. Any issues I had in the flat were resolved quickly and I would definitely use them again in the future.

Sad but true - Galbraith were the final straw in our letting agents in Scotland experience. We've now bought a house and I hope we never have the misfortune of dealing with a letting agent like this ever again.When we moved into our property, the inventory clerk who did the check in report failed to pick up on even the most basic things, like a filthy floor and dog food splashes all over the walls, not to mention several broken items. As a result we spent ages going around the property noting errors in the check in report and probably still failed to find everything.In stark contrast, the check out clerk was clearly trained by Anthea Turner herself - they noted everything to a tee and pointed out their opinions that the property had not been cleaned. When in fact we left the property in a FAR cleaner state than when we moved in - on our move in day it was disgusting! Why we should spend our time cleaning an oven that hadn't been cleaned before we moved in is beyond me, honestly.Add to this the fact that Galbraith are awkward and obstreperous in their dealings with customers- we waited 6 months to have our shower fixed after trying and failing to organise an appointment time to suit both ourselves and the contractor- and you have yourself a recipe for disaster.They never took any of our comments and complaints seriously, including mention of the upstairs noise which had caused the previous tenants to move out.The only blessing in this situation was our landlady who was an absolute delight to deal with at all times and who was a truly lovely person. Thank goodness for her!I sincerely hope we never have to deal with Galbraith again and would give them 0 stars if I could.

When my tenant left, Galbraiths team swang into action, identifying small upgrades that would help the property rent faster and rapidly placing the property out for re-let. They screened the potential tenants and made sure that I was offered a choice of new tenants. the process was really swift and efficient too :-)
