We came in out with the opening times of the kitchen, yet they let us eat. The food was amazing, fresh and tasty! The staff was kind and the ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic! All with all a good experience and we will definitely visit again.

Last night we had our final highlands meal. It was at The Old Inn, where we ate 5 nights in a row. Why?Because their chefs is an absolute wizardBecause their staff are utterly lovelyBecause their bar is outstandingBecause their owners are terrific folksBecause the place is as old, dark and classic as it getsAnd because the vibe (for lack of a better word) was really special in a deeply Scottish way.

Great service. Nice food. Perfect if you are in a campervan over the road in the harbour. Don?t forget to walk to the waterfall!

The Old Inn was located in a charming location. We booked for dinner after a day of touring. We were given a lovely table in a back room that was soon filled with other patrons. I found the menu to be quite limited for my tastes, but found something that I thought I would enjoy. The food was good, but I wouldn't say it was outstanding. But considering that choices are limited in the area, this restaurant is quite acceptable for a meal.

Went to Old Inn for dinner - even tho we had a booking it seemed to pose a bit of a problem, however a table was found. The burger meals were ordinary but fine however the fish meal was terrible - one tiny bit of fish and the rest potato. For £15 this is totally unacceptable. The waitress was not interested. Disappointing meal and attitude- would not recommend this place.

Start with the positives; the food was decent and healthy portions for reasonable prices for the area. The young staff serving in the evening were friendly and helpful; no issues at all. The rooms are over-priced and shabby. We have stayed in the area in far nicer accommodation for far less money. The window wouldn?t close at all, the room smelt mouldy and there was condensation on the window which had a lovely view of the car park. The double was actually two singles pushed together and the duvet covers may well have been clean but the colour was what I can only describe as stained. Really not pleasant. Breakfast was frankly bizarre, no signs, weird choices and we witnessed one poor couple being chastised for not sitting in a different area yet there was no signage anywhere. The only staff member available was beyond grumpy and downright rude. Plenty of other options so I wouldn?t recommend a stay here to anyone

Originally only planning on staying one night here but ended up staying 4. The hotel is in such a beautiful and quiet place we decided to finish our trip here and get some much needed relaxation days in.The hotel was cheap in comparison with other hotels on the coast and while it was basic it was really nice. It was clean and tidy and exactly what I expected for what I paid.Food in the restaurant is not cheap but is phenomenal - did not have a bad meal here and would thoroughly recommend. The Scottish lady that works on reception and the bar was particularly nice. She made our stay much better and was extremely welcoming, going the right extra mile to make things nice for my partners birthday was a nice touch!

Doubleroom booked thru hotels.com. Upon arrival at 3:30 pm we found no one present at the inn. There was a bell to ring for staff at the reception - which we did three times! Eventually a very angry women shows up and gives us a real old fashion tell off! How dare we arrive before 4pm - the reception is closed! According to hotels.com the check in starts at 3:30 pm We took our luggage and left! NEVER have I experienced such a way to handle a paying customer! I am furious! I CANNOT recommend this establishment - do not go there unless you accept to be treated like scum!!

We came across the Inn at the halfway point in a walk and decided to try it for lunch. We sat in the very nice conservatory-type part near the front, which is nicely decorated with a beach/sea theme, and were lucky to have it to ourselves. The lady behind the bar seemed to be working alone, and was pretty rushed off her feet as it got busier after we first came in. Despite that she was very friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. There wasn't a big menu for lunch, but there were still a couple of vegetarian choices. I went for the Highland Grilled Cheese while my other half had the (large size) Cullen Skink. Both meals were very nice, and the grilled cheese came with a salad, pickled cucumber, and tortilla chips. The bread for both meals appeared to home-made and they were nicely presented. The only thing which prevented a 5-star rating is the price; neither meal was what I would realistically call a 'main' but along with 2 Cokes our total bill was almost £30, which seemed a bit steep when we've had full dinners for that price elsewhere. That said, if we're in the area again we would return.

Title: A Rhyming Review of the Old Inn PubRating: ????In the Scottish Highlands, I found a charming space,The Old Inn Pub, with a rustic embrace.Service quite direct, but that's alright,For the food they served was a pure delight. The menu a treasure trove, flavors so divine,Each dish a masterpiece, like aged wine. From starters to dessert, a culinary song,Leaving my taste buds dancing all along. The ambiance took me to days of yore,A cozy haven, a place to adore.Though service lacked warmth, the food stole the show,In the heart of Highlands, it's a place to go.So raise a glass to the Old Inn Pub's grace,Where lovely food makes up for a service pace.A hidden gem, amidst landscapes grand,In poetic delight, my heart firmly stands.

We enjoyed our lunch here after walking up to the nearly waterfall. All our meals were in the main good - fish and chips, monktail scampi with fries and a tofu sandwich. It was good to find a vegetarian choice on the menu. The fries with the scampi weretoo well done and hard but other than that things were OK. The atmosphere in the dining area is good and service fine.

Signage wasn?t great, we had to walk around the building to find someone to check us in upon arrival. The room we had was large, clean but quite dated. The bunkbed was rickety and we wobbled a lot when our daughter got in and out. The bedding quality was poor, pillows had definitely seen better days.Evening restaurant food was great, good choice in food and very tasty.Disappointing breakfast, the choice for hot food wasn?t good. Boiled eggs, bacon roll and a couple of pastries. The layout was confusing, from having to search for our room number on a table across 3 rooms to finding where different cereals/hot food were in the buffet room as they were dotted all over the place. This would?ve been easier and a better experience if a staff member explained things and or showed us to our table.Overall we wouldn?t stay here again,

Fantastic staff, food was excellent and we were all made very welcome. My grandchildren gave it an 11 out of 10.
