The weather wasn't brilliant when we went out on our 2 hour boat trip. We didn't see much, but we did see a couple of porpoises and some seals and nesting cormorants. The reason for the 5 stars is the fact that not only did Ian give his all to find as much sea life as possible he educated us on so much including what a two degree rise in the sea water means.

Enjoyed my boat trip no end - thanks to skipper, Ian, for his wealth of local wildlife knowledge & Donna for her friendly, responsive communications, organising the sailing. Saw my first ever puffin, as well as dolphins & seals - learning how to differentiate between some of the other sea birds.

A brilliant informative trip. Not much wildlife about but it didn't matter (it's not a zoo after all). Great scenery and lots of information. We'll do it again next time we visit.

Enjoyed the boat trip and Ian the skipper was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately the wildlife were having a day off that day.

It costs half the price of its kiosk neighbor, it puts you on a more solid and sheltered boat than the racing dinghy offered by the others, but you're at sea an hour less and from what I understand you don't go as far. I don't know how much the stretch of beaten sea influences the possibility of seeing whales, I have no idea where a whale prefers to go, I have traveled the entire Scottish coast from east to west including a couple of islands and I haven't met a single seal, for to say.The captain, Ian, was very helpful, he explained a few things to us about the fauna in those parts and did his best to show us something. In the end no whales or even dolphins, just a couple of porpoises and a submarine, we even got quite close to those.I don't know whether to call myself satisfied or not, but I am happy with the experience and would do it again.

Absolutely fantastic tour from Ian, amazing to learn so much from his vast experience and his passion for Marine life clearly comes through. We were privileged to see Minke Whales, porpoises , including a calf, a seal, puffins and a wide variety of bird life. And also a nuclear submarine (one of ours) Great day out and value. Superb!!

Absolutely fantastic trip on Tuesday the 10th August 2021, we saw a basking shark, minke whale, several pods of dolphins a lion jelly fish, loads of seabirds, including 4 white tailed eagles, loads of puffins, kittiwakes, guillemots, razorbills, well worth the 4 hour trip at a fantastic price, will definatly do it again if I'm ever in the area, thank you so much ?

Donna handled our booking and was very helpful and friendly. What a disappointment then to meet the rather over-defensive and negative Ian who we found to be the opposite. He began with a very sarcastic attitude about my use of the facilities including his toilet, and the fact that in passing I referred to his marine wildlife centre as a shed. My family felt that this was an embarrassing put down in front of the rest of the passengers. The safety information that he gave at the beginning of the cruise was at best cursory. There were not enough seats on deck which left four of us standing for the entire 2 hour trip. We know it was a wildlife tour but we felt disappointed to see only a handful of sea birds. £165 for our family was an expensive way to do this.

Wonderful cruise with Ian, we were very lucky to see some common dolphins as well as plenty of seabirds. Ian was very knowledgeable and his insight into the local area and habitat was excellent. He also explained how the areas have changed over the years and what that means for the wildlife which gives helpful context to the sightings. A great way to spend a couple of hours in Gairloch.
