We went here on Sunday for their Sunday roast. This was the 1st time we have had this, but we will definitely come back. The food was delicious ?. They change the type of roast each week. We had the lamb, and as I said, I would highly recommend eating here.

Local pub with good food. We were a group of 8 and called ahead to ensure food was available.We were welcomed in by a cheery happy staff member and quickly had our drinks at the table while the food order was taken down.The atmosphere was friendly and homely.Food arrived in good time and was very tasty and plenty of it. We enjoyed some extra drinks and then walked back down to our accomodation.Thoroughly recommend The Star for a super warm welcome and grand food.

Our daughter and partner treated us to a most beautiful meal tonight. Our first time here but certainly won?t be our last. Our daughter lives near this lovely gem in village and decided to treat us as we been very busy. Thanks it really was a lovely meal.

Had booked a table for last night, walked in with my daughter, mother & auntie, was greeted by silence and frosty stares. Honestly very reminiscent of something from deliverance. When we asked if we were to be seated in the lounge, the bar maid was rude, claiming we had booked for the previous night. We had not. My mum had even followed up her booking on Facebook which had not been read by them. The bar maid refused to help us, even when we asked if we could have a takeaway. Utterly appalling customer service, made to feel very unwelcome and it was down right a strange bar.Went along to the railway where to people and atmosphere were welcoming and the food was great.So everyone thinking of dining or drinking at the star inn?simply DONT.

Went for a family meal. We all had the steak pie, which was very lovely! Wine selection wasn't great, though as none of us knew much about wine it didn't matter too much, and the white wine we chose was nice. Sticky toffee pudding for desert was also tasty!The room for dining was separated from the bar, and had an electric fire which made the atmosphere very cosy.

Very good indeed. Really varied menu. It happened to be steak night, so two of the company had sirloin steaks. They were incredible value & well cooked. The place was lovely. We would definitely go back & I would thoroughly recommend

Incredible little gem in Friockheim, can't recommend this enough for dinner. You can choose any food and it will be amazing. Staff are so friendly and brings a good family atmosphere.
