We had a limited amount of time to taste and buy whiskies in Scotland, and so we took a chance by stopping by this specific Whisky Shop location instead of going to a distillery since the reviews were so good. This turned out an excellent choice, and we left with a variety of whiskies as well as some gin! The folks working at the time were all nice and happy to help us out. There were some samples out, but don't be afraid to ask if they have any samples of something you're thinking about getting. They might already have a bottle open.

This is a lovely place to choose a nice bottle to accompany your stay in Fort Wlliam. The shop has a very relaxed atmosphere with a well laid out expansive collection from some extremely good value bottles to some very rare collectables.Kevin is very knowledgeable and is also a good listener able to make recommendations based on your preferences. He is unhurried and usually has plenty of open bottles for tasting examples.Highly recommended.

A warm welcome during a visit today (25th August 2020) whilst looking for a good Speyside. Very helpful assistant, and got exactly what I was looking for. Apparently the shop has been open for 6 weeks, and long may it prosper, especially in these difficult times.

Made welcome by Kenneth and his wife. A good knowledgeable chat about whisky ensued, samples were offered and relished. Finally after much deliberation, a purchase was made! Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

I stopped in here to kill some time while walking around the beautiful town of Ft. William. The selection wasn't too interesting vs. what you might find in Edinburgh. Still, I did see a few special single cask bottles from Highland Park that were hard to find. But the prices were predictably very high (£300 for Highland Park 19 YO single cask from one producer and £500 for Highland Park 19 YO from another producer). Otherwise, you could get just about any easy to find Scotch at the normal retail price.

Stopped into the Whisky Shop Ft William on our first day in Scotland (Oct 2012). We were total Scotch novices and slightly intimidated. The friendly shop keeper sensed this and she immediately whipped out a tray of samples with which she educated us in the basics of Scotch. She helped us select from among their wide array of "nips" to continue our whisky exploration. I credit her with getting our Scotland vacation off to great start. Not only did we find some favorite whiskies right there and then, but we felt comfortable ordering Scotch at pubs for the rest of our trip!
