Web site listings all say opening times. So today it is open until 22.00! Rang this morning to book a table, as planned to meet up with friends who had travelled from Newcastle to meet us. Got the answering machine, called back at 12.00 open time, still answering machine, travelled to the restaurant, said outside open, but closed with no one in sight, our friends arrived soon after, what a disappointment. To make matters worse they left a voice message saying we should have called the day before to check if they were open today!! never heard anything like it, so if they had been closed yesterday as well, how does that help to know when they are open? No where on the telephone, internet does it say anything about being closed, would have been a first visit, but never again, what a waste of time.

We stayed there this weekend, we had a lovely evening meal and a great hearty breakfast. The staff are wonderful and our petrified rescue dog was welcomed. Stopped off lunch, my friend been here many times, me first time, had lovely lunch.Dog friendly, we took my friends puppy 3 months old, they had dog Rosie the two of them played so happy.Great service lovely food.

We called to say we were late from a rugby match in Edinburgh and they kindly stayed open. Good honest food and welcoming service. Very reasonable prices. Gorgeous dog called Rosie too ??. We will be back.

Popped in for lunch which was good and the service was excellent very quiet when we were there. Need to entice more passing trade with better signage on approach and possibly specials like Sunday roast or high tea . Love the place ??

Great food, welcoming staff, very relaxed. Prices very good. Well worth a stop enroute or as a local you wont be disappointed and will revisit.

excellent food and the staff and owner where helpful and welcoming. especially the greeting form the owners lovey dog.the rooms where grate and tidy I definitely recommend if I?m the area my college recommended this to me because he travels a lot for business I can definitely see why he recommended it.

Our family and I went for a meal about 18.30 yesterday and what a shambles. The food was good but the wait was awful and 2 meals were served after the others had finished. The sweets were eventually ordered after I cleared the table and took to the bar. Yet another wait as the waitress forgot I think. The same waitress was serving behind the bar as well and the landlady ( I assume) was watching from her chair with friends and did eventually come and apologise saying ?short of staff?. This isn?t a way to run an establishment and if they did get a rush of people (4 people eating in the other part of restaurant) god help them. We have friends coming to stay next year and have already booked a room - trying to get them moved as cannot subject them to that kind of shambles!! Will not visit again even tho? we are local!! Very disappointed!! Don?t stay or eat here. ??

Stopped on the off chance of getting a coffee on way back to Aberdeen this evening. We were warmly welcome and served by cheerful staff in a lovely wee coffee shop at the back of the hotel. Breakfast and lunch menu looks good. Dinner in the restaurant too. We will certainly be back there again.

Warm and friendly HotelWe attended a family birthday meal and could not fault the service we got .The meal was fantastic value for money and the service was outstanding the staff was great with the grandchildren.The food was very tasty and the Hotel catered for the Grandchildren as well even.The Hotel was clean and very tidy a great place to go if your look for value for money.

Stopped at Finavon Hotel for lunch. Steak Pie was enjoyed by two of our party and seared Salmon by the other two. Both dished were really excellent will be calling again when in the area.
