This is the first time we have visited since the change of ownership.The service is very good and the staff were friendly and made you feel welcome.They have a reasonable menu with various choices, which were well prepared and presented (including Gluten Free).Thank you all for a very enjoyable meal.We will certainly be returning.Mr G.Turnidge.

Stopped by for dinner whilst staying in the area. Greeted straight away with a friendly smile. Lovely local ales were available on draught, we were given samples to try before deciding which drinks to go for. Chatty, friendly staff from start to finish. We had mains and desserts. Food was all fresh cooked and lovely. Very reasonably priced. Dog friendly too which was a bonus for us. Highly recommend and would eat here again.

Had dinner here last night and loved every minute of it! The food was lovely and the portions were generous. We had Lasagna and the Chicken burger. For dessert we treated ourselves to the chocolate and salted caramel pot. I also tried one of their seasonal cocktails: the pumpkin spice espresso martini - which was amazing!We were greeted with a smile as soon as we came in, and the service throughout the night was top notch! A lovely wee place that we will definitely be recommending :)

Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The lady working in the restaurant for breakfast (sorry, didn't catch her name!) was wonderful and worked so hard for the guests. Review for room 9. We had awful sleep with a horrid bed. It was a double and single bed base pushed together with two double spring mattresses on top. Due to the mattress overhang it provided little support and we both left with aches and pains. The shower was the noisiest shower I think I've ever heard! You had to turn the shower on, then press a button for water to run. The shock of the noise when one was sleeping was horrid! Would have been useful for staff to have told us about this. The walls are paper thin, so if you enjoy listening to conversations from 3 rooms down, this is the hotel for you! Kettle in the room had water in when we checked in, so clearly hadn't been cleaned. Room photos on the website are for the suite rooms and not standard rooms.

Not happy with millhouse not been there for a while but has gone down hill since last visit . They explained they were looking for a new chef , even so it was poor. I'm not complaining about waitress service or bar staff was great they can only serve . There menu was much reduced and only had ribeye steak and price was inflated. Didn't want to say to much because wasn't wanting to spoil the night for the birthday girl . We used to go alot but after last night will leave it , and hopefully in future they may sort it out.

Visited for dinner and the customer service was great. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and offer easy access for my mum who is unsteady on her feet by seating us in the conservatory. The three young ladies who took and delivered our orders were exceptional being helpful, kind and professional. Great service. Thanks so much.

My husband and I went here on Friday evening with friends to celebrate our Golden Wedding. We wanted to be there as ours was the first wedding held there on 11th August 1973. We were both touched that the staff had gone to the bother of decorating our table and gone the extra length to present us with a bottle of Prosecco. None of it was expected and we were very touched by the thoughtfulness. All of the staff who attended, not only us but other diners, were so friendly and nothing seemed too much bother and all with smiling faces. The food was excellent but just a tip the portions are large !! Would certainly recommend visiting here - you won?t be disappointed. Thank you once again for making our celebration so memorable . We stopped here for lunch yesterday, and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Travelling with our big dog Dylan, we had intended to sit outside, but the weather had deteriorated and rain threatened. We were invited to bring him inside, but the bar and restaurant were accessed by flights of stairs - Dylan is old and blind and doesn't cope well with stairs. So, the staff opened the outside door to a (not normally open) conservatory and, at some inconvenience to them, served us lunch there. The food was excellent - local produce, generous portions and hot. We have rarely experienced such a warm and attentive welcome - very highly recommended.
