Baxters Lobster Bisque with Brandy and fresh double cream has neither taste, scent or body to it. The watery orange coloured excuse for a Chefs Selection soup to be avoided at all costs. Unless perhaps to wish to have a long break in the wash room.

Used to love this place when I visited from Canada. Drove up from Aberdeen and online said it was open today, not until I drove out for the day with family did I find they have signs up that the restaurant and gift shop are closed. What a joke they can?t update google in 2023. Easy to see big business does not care about us anymore. Do yourself a favour and go to Dean?s Shortbread down the road in Huntly they are open 7 days a week. And the pancakes are better than what Baxter?s used to be.

Loved the little tour and the shops onsite that you can buy loads of their stock from. Also they have a whisky/alcohol shop too! A really friendly restaurant with gorgeous food but the pancakes! If there is anything you write home about it's the pancakes, they are to die for! Best damn things I've ever tasted and with their ice cream or jams too! Absolute heaven ?

Extremely well organised facility regagarding the pandemic situation. The Best way is to book online if you do not want to wait. Menu very good for British standards but a bit mediocre for Continental tastes. The specialite is the plump pancake with a variety of toppings. The pancake is a bit too dry for a pancake lover but the toppings compensate it. Soups are great. The surroundings with the river and trees are impressive. Very nice family business museum and a couple of shops with Baxter soups and other product. A good place to stop on your way.

Pancakes.....the size of your head...Served with amazing jams and butter. A trip down memory lane with the museum and historical exhibits. But it's all about the pancakes. They are out of this world. A great brand with amazing products.

An absolute gem of a local attraction! Spent a very enjoyable afternoon here. Really interesting little museum on how the Baxter family started out in business, with charming vintage shop interiors. Fantastic food shop offering a wide range of products, with staff bending over backwards to help. Very good gift shop with an interesting range of products as well as a lifestyle shop. Extremely friendly staff as well in the restaurant. If we lived locally, we'd definitely become regulars!

Brilliant breakfast again at Baxter's Cafe. Always a nice treat! Food once again was tasty and filling! Great price, with quick service. Also stopped by the shop to get some treats for the family (Whisky and sweeties!!!).

Great place to have breakfast. The food was very reasonably priced and it was extremely pleasant to look around all the shops afterwards. I would highly recommend. What a fab place.

Bit overpriced for the product. The pancakes were nice, but for the price, I would expect any amount of toppings I wanted. The chips were a bit 'peely wally' and slightly raw in the middle. To pay £50 for a brunch meal two adults and two kids, I'd just expect a little more.

Went in a group of 4 to have lunch. We had 2 pancakes and 2 Cullen skink soups and it took them 20+ minutes to deliver it to our table. Apart from slow service the food was excellent. Worth the wait
