My partner and I shared a wonderful stay at the Taversoe during our holiday this summer. The rooms were comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff were attentive and went the extra mile to help their guests. I can heartily recommend this hotel.

Such an amazing lunch for a remote little place. My wife and I both had the nachos (me beef; her vegetarian) which was soooo good.

Lovely family run hotel on the island of Rousay, an island off mainland Orkney. A 10 minute walk from the ferry terminal. Great evening meals and breakfasts. Four rooms, dog friendly. Closed on Mondays. Some wonderful chambered cairns within a mile. About 10 mins drive from the site of Midhowe Broch and cairn. Guided tours available at the hotel.

I stayed in 30 plus extablishments in 2022 and I have just been thinking through the year. I was embarrassed to note that I had failed to review Taversoe Hotel, Rousay, Orkney .. perhaps the best accommodation of the whole year which included many places in Scottish Highlands and Islands, South of France, Philippines .. even England. EVERYTHING about The Taversoe is superb .. quality of rooms, quality of food and, maybe best of all, the location I will return!

Visiting a little off season, but a very warm welcome. Fantastic room, very clean, plenty of room and what a view! Eat an evening meal, as well as a good breakfast. Dog friendly - highly recommended! makes a visit to Rousay even more appealing

Had an excellent lunch of Smoked Haddock Cullen Skink with a side of Ham and Salad sandwich with great view across the sea. It was well presented and served by very pleasant waitress. Well worth a visit.

This hotel with just 4 bedrooms is run by a very nice family who went out of their way for us. We had very good home cooked food and a comfortable room overlooking the sea. The whole island has friendly people, and a special mention for Mary?s takeaway trailer for good open-air coffee.

A very friendly quaint little pub that serves real ale amongst other beers and meals. With a large bay window looking over the water, there are some beautiful views to be absorbed and possibly the occasional Orca or Dolphin pod

Lovely wee hotel. Had Crab Sandwiches and Cullen Skink for lunch. Both excellent. They also had Real Ale available. Friendly staff and good service.

We had the Cullen Skink, the Mushroom soup, the crab sandwiches. The staff were lovely, so was the food, and the view was incomparable. And the price was very reasonable - £30 for the two of us. Thank you!

A fantastic Inn with very spacious rooms and a verandah with sea views. (Owing to the weather, you can't always see that much but one can hardly blame the proprietor for that!) It is spotlessly clean with free parking and a functioning wi-fi. Also on the property are a restaurant and a bar, which is just as well as otherwise you would struggle to find alternatives in the evening. Friendly staff. Full marks.

Stayed 3 nights 22-24 June 22. As soon as we arrived a friendly welcome from owner, during our stay all staff very friendly. We had dinner every night in the bar as we had 2 dogs which was nice. Fish & chips amazing. Stunning sea view from bedrooms & dining room. Small island, however we wished we had stayed longer as there is so much to do if you like walking, if not there are a few beaches which are so quiet and relaxing.
