Wonderful setting, Anna collected us and returned us to the train station. It?s small and intimate and the food is just delicious. We had the hamper starter which allowed us to have samples of all the starters. So fresh and well presented. We had the monkfish and the half lobster. By far, the best monkfish main I have ever had. The lobster was served with mac n cheese and truffle fries. Delightful! They also made the best spicy margarita I have ever had. I cannot recommend this gem enough !!

Having visited the restaurant several times a year for around 10 years and never been disappointed, today the kitchen absolutely excelled itself. It was the introduction of the festive menu and it was luxurious, beautifully presented and delicious. The hamper of starters is deceptive in how filling it is but what a treat to have a wee taste of everything. Salmon en croute with hollandaise and fondant potatoes really made me feel christmas has started. I'm actually tempted to go again while this menu is available...well done team

A wee bit tricky to find, Sat bag took us up a dirt track & we parked & tried to walk down a steep hill to the restaurant to be met by the owner in a 4x4 picking up patrons at silver sands car park, now I ignored the option on the web site when booking, but would recommend parking there and asking for a lift, makes life easier and the owner is happy to do it! Regards to the food, absolutely delicious, we had fish cakes, then salmon & prawn rigatoni, and struggled to eat any more, but managed the blackberry I?ve cream sandwich, Wow, I love ice cream and this was one of the best I?d ever had, followed by really tasty coffee & shortbread! A quick care ride back to the car was appreciated. Highly recommended

The food was sensational. We ordered the hamper which was essentially a taster of all the starters. Just WOW!! Without doubt the best starters I have ever tasted. Every single mouthful was fabulous. The mains I ordered the prawn and chorizo rigatoni and my wife ordered hake in a bed of risotto. Just superb. Dessert again hit the heights. This is a hidden gem even though it was quite expensive, I think it was worth the price.

As a seafood lover I have visited many of the top seafood restaurants in Edinburgh and can't believe I have missed this gem on my doorstep. This restaurant beats all the places I have visited in the city and at a fraction of the price. The setting is idyllic and the quality of food is outstanding. If you appreciate seafood this place must be visited.

Excellent location with great views. Staff are attentive and helpful. The food was fantastic and well presented - recommend the hamper as a great starter. We ate outdoors. Overall the place looks s bit tired and some of the outdoor tables and the areas around them need a wee tidy up. The drive down is pretty tight - take them up on their offer of a lift.

First visit following numerous recommendations. Food and experience exceeded hopes. Food is first class - without the Michelin pretentiousness. Dining room is a former sitting room, so contained, and pine tables indicate the informality of the dining experience. Hannah - the proprietress - and her staff were all efficient and friendly. A dining experience to be recommended.

What a special place this is. A scenic short walk from the town leads you to this lovely hotel where we received a friendly welcome. The weather was fine so we had pre dinner drinks in the garden looking out over the estuary and harbour. All the staff were very professional and helpful. The quality of ingredients and how they were prepared and presented was excellent, including little extras that make it extra special. We were given a table at a window with a view, the atmosphere and decor in the restaurant were perfect. I?d definitely recommend to friends and would come back if in the area. The whole experience is exceptional value for money.

If you want to dine fresh sea food around Edinburgh this is the place. Make sure you do reserve a table as indoors there are only a few tables plus some outdoors. The food was very nice and the service impeccable. To reach there by car you need to drive a bit steep road. It?s doable if you are careful. If you dont want to risk use the large parking nearby and walk down for a few minutes. The the pasta or the sea bass. And look on the window?

Fantastic seafood in a beautiful location. We had the sharer starter and lobster for main. Perfect location for an anniversary meal.

One of the best meals we have had in scotland and certainly the best desert and cheese board. The waiters were knowledgeable and friendly and a credit to the hotel
