Excellent food, friendly locals and reasonable prices ! Myself and Mum had haddock and my dad the Steak pie, 10/10 all round !Thanks to the staff for a great meal !

Had heard/ read mixed reviews but couldnt find many true dog friendly pubs around so tried it and found it to be our type of place . Traditional harbourside pub, brickwork , old photos , memorabilia etc yes with practical lino floor but upholstery looked fine to me . Friendly bar lady , locals and other dog owners to engage in conversation . Never had such huge scampi in all my life ! Popped in another day for a drink but sadly didn't have time to eat , would defo come again .

Can 100% recommend seafood. Staff friendly but only 1 person serving when 4 were working. 8+ customers queuing. Pub needs a good deep clean, upholstery & floors soiled & tatty.

Sat at the back of a pub basically, with not much atmosphere. Very quiet but was dog friendly fownstairs. Lady behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming. Ordered steak pie and lasagne. Food is basic pub food. Not thrills tbh just pub food. Tasted good, no fancy extras. Only visited the once.

Enjoyed the meal , starters and mains were cooked well , the lady who served us was friendly and very helpful we had the steaks which were cooked prefect and my mum enjoyed her scampi and chips

Very mid!! At a push? Lasagna was burnt, on being reheated for sure, it was drier than an Arabs sandal?.It was like it had been portioned up and left in the fridge for a week awful. Everything was very beige no sign of vegetables or salad on any meals could be so much better. I think because there aren?t many options in Eyemouth they have just gotten lazy and unimaginative. Far better options than here folks.

Had a delicious meal of very fresh locally caught scampi here when I was in Eyemouth overnight. This is a small friendly pub (children are welcome) where they serve food and there is a restaurant upstairs. The night I was there they had a private function upstairs, so the bar was busy. They made a great effort to make a space to fit in an extra a table for me in the bar. The same menu serves both areas. I was made to feel really welcome, the service was quick, friendly and efficient and I ended up spending a couple of hours here. Portions are generous and all the food which I saw being served looked good. I was very pleased to be able to have a small portion to suit my smaller appetite. I would certainly go back, good fresh food and a great atmosphere

Me and lads had just been out on the stormy waves of the Scottish Borders we hadn?t eaten probably in over a week. However it brings me immense satisfaction to say that the holy contented sole came in clutch with the banging scampi and chips. Thank you

The food is really well prepared, very tasty and good value. Staff are friendly and the place has a real local bar feel to it. It will be our go to place away from home.

What a lovely meal!! We all agreed that we would come again. Service was friendly and quick, the meals were well priced, very tasty and good portion sizes. The scampi and steak pie was especially good!!

We have visited Eyemouth for the last 5 years and always eaten at The Contented Sole . The food has always been excellent and great value for money . The staff are welcoming and the banter and atmosphere congenial. We have unfortunately recently been and found a change . The food is still excellent and the staff as good as ever . But on this visit the pub was full of drunken locals whose standards and language were appalling. They had children with them and they were loud and obnoxious caring for nothing other than their loud uncouth behaviour. A real shame we will not be visiting again . We actually left our food due to this . Upon reflection this behaviour appears to mirror the way the town is heading in ?..

After a disappointing dinner the day before at a nearby "fine dining" pub I tried this more modest establishment at Eyemouth's harbor. The food was simple - and simply delicous. I had fishcakes with chips and sticky toffee pudding and was not disapointed by anything . I was especially pleased to pay about half what I had been asked at the pretentious and gastronomically offensive restaurant of the day before. I left a contented soul indeed.
