Won?t be using again. The bloke over the phone quoted £550 all in for parts and work which needed doing. I get a call the next day saying he ?messed it up? and ordered one part instead of two and it?s going to be £680. Seems like I got had. Won?t be using them again. Don?t recommend.

Booked in for an oil and oil filter change dropped off the keys 10 mins early and headed to a coffee shop nearby to wait, 2 hours later i walked past and my car hadn?t moved i had to wait another 3 hours and 15 minutes before i got my car back, what is the point of an appointment time if you cant get the car in for another two hours, wasted an entire day walking around the industrial estate waiting 5:15 for my car from a simple oil change. I have used this garage once before for an MOT that took two and a half hours and they hadn?t bothered to contact me to tell me the car had been ready an hour, i gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was a one off but after this experience i will not be coming back for what is already a higher than average cost on MOT and oil change!

Car was booked in to get a air con diagnostic done at 11.30am, booking was made the previous week, I was told at reception there was 3 cars ahead so could be about 3 hours, I arrived back 4 hours later but job wasn't done, so much for a booking in time and there was 2 cars ahead of me, needless to say I'm unhappy with the unreliable service provided and won't be using them again, I'll take my car elsewhere where customers matter.

Booked MOT evening before as other Centre in Elgin phoned last minute to cancel my MOT . Was great to still get car booked in to the other centre same day . MOT was done at time allocated and David Ferrier the manager phoned straight away to give me a price of what was needing done. Got the work done and got car back at time promised . Service was excellent and will be using them again to get the advisories all done too .

I recently had the pleasure of working with Halfords McConechys Elgin Autocentre to get my vehicle repaired. On the 14th of March, their team fitted four new disks along with new pads, and I was thoroughly impressed with the level of professionalism and efficiency they displayed and the help I relieved from Graeme.
From the initial consultation to the completion of the job, the team was courteous, knowledgeable, and worked diligently to ensure that the work was done to a high standard. I was particularly impressed with their ability to complete the job in a timely manner, which was much appreciated, and I give thanks to the team especially the Mechanic - Reece.
While the final cost was higher than I had anticipated, however after considering the labour involved, along with VAT being added, the price was fair and reasonable. Overall, I would highly recommend Halfords McConechys - Elgin Autocentre to others in need of a reliable and vehicle maintenance workshop. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Booked in for a service and MOT, with a drop off time of 8.30. When I arrived, I was told the MOT was scheduled for 11.00. When I explained that this wasn't advised at the time of booking on the website, Graham understood and said he would make sure I was advised as soon as the MOT had been done, and whether it had passed. As it was, I received a call at 10.30 to tell me it had failed due to brakes, and he would get them done as soon as possible. I then received another call just after 2pm to say it had all been done.
Graham was aware I had travelled 30 miles, and was waiting for the service to be done before I could go home, so he made sure I wasn't waiting all day.
A great service all round.

Communication was poor both from some staff and on paper receipt about what had been done in 5 pt check. Was told free 10 point check not available to premium club members at that time. Hadn't noticed that stated anywhere before arriving. Reception not always staffed. Actual work done was OK.

We?ve taken cars to Halfords McConachy?s in Elgin a few times now for minor repairs, and found them exceptionally reliable, helpful and excellent value. Many thanks to the friendly and efficient David, who has taken our calls and kept us informed of progress. Strongly recommended.

Dreadful. I booked an appointment for 16:50. When I got there, I was told it was ?moved to 12:30 and that I missed it?. Apparently the MOT inspector had gone home. It blatantly wasn?t moved - see attached image. I am now having to try and get a refund out of this lot.
Definitely a business to avoid - luckily there are plenty of MOT test centres.
