I stopped going there, the food is overpriced and the shop is quite depressing

Generally a very pleasant store but if you compare prices with other supermarkets you?ll find it to be more expensive so you expect quality. On that basis today purchased 2 steaks from the butcher counter (served by a young inexperienced girl with a blunt knife) and sadly despite careful cooking these steaks were tough and lacking in taste. To be fair to Waitrose buying steak in a supermarket is rather a hit or miss affair so either take the risk on the chin or go to an established butcher with a good reputation.

Very poor and miserable shopping experience at 15.00hours on 3rd October.Displays of fresh fruit and vegetables were seriously depleted in the middle of the trading day. Empty green baskets that should have been full of fresh fruit and vegetables were bare! It was impossible to find a Shop Assistant, apart from the bloke on the fish counter, to enquire about unavailable items. There were numerous gaps in the ambient goods' shelf displays. If one Shops at Waitrose, one expects a shopping experience that is different to Aldi or Lidl especially when one is paying 'top dollar.'UPDATE to owners' reply:This is not "out of the ordinary" at Comely Bank. The Partner to whom I spoke agreed with me and had no solution to the problem. The fish counter was seriously depleted of stock too. Despite the Owner's attempt to "spin" this situation, I still do not know why the situation which I describe occurred.

Friendly and helpful staff albeit mostly appearing to be under 21 and rather classy, a good range of products many of which were quite affordable albeit some a little out of my league, simple and inoffensive self checkout and final reductions that were nicely priced but spread around various aisles. I'd happily consider shopping there more often if it wasn't quite so out of my way and not near any other 'attractions,'.

I think that click and collect is not a gift of Waitrose. Crazy to spend ages on the phone in the carpark, then go downstairs to the information desk in the shop, wait ages for the food to be bought to us, then have to unload the shopping, have it scanned, reload it into the trolley, pay for it and then take it back to the car!I am used to Tesco click and collect - put in the order. It is all picked, and money gets taken off my card. I drive to the store, send a text with my name, and someone brings my shopping to the car, I load the car and leave.I think for paying a premium at Waitrose, it should definitely at least match Tesco in its customer service!

This is the worst Waitrose store I have been to! Really bad staff compared with the stores I went to in London. I?ve experienced racial discrimination here. Their services are unpleasant and they treat my family very rude. I have recorded this and will post on YouTube. Please try to avoid this store.

Never had any problems with the store itself. Free parking for two hours and toilet facilities available. It?s an older Waitrose by now and some of their fridges/freezers do break down but you can get most things. It?s a 17 year old store after-all.My main issue actually comes from other customers who are exceptionally rude to staff and will just barge into fellow customers if you?re in their way. I?ve witnessed a lot of customers shout at [underpaid] younger workers because fridges are broken, or because they?ve not read the instructions or clearly posted signage. A lot of the negative reviews here echo that stereotypical Waitrose entitlement that you?re owed the world. If you shop here it?s in the knowledge that the store is overdue for a refresh, and some things may not work. But you do get unique products you won?t find elsewhere. That awareness would save a lot of moaning and disappointment.

Spent 20 minutes putting together a grocery order and it was rejected flat out because staff didn't feel like doing it. Waste of time.

Great supermarket for luxury and unusual items. And not always as expensive as you'd expect???
