During a recent stay in Edinburgh at the Hotel Indigo, I had the chance to dine here several times for dinner and breakfast and I found it to be quite charming with solid food and service. Some of my favorites at dinner were the venison carpaccio, the superfood salad (really refreshing as food in general is quite heavy) and the ravioli. Cocktails were also quite satisfying and I found that the whole staff was kind and helpful. At breakfast you can order a dish on their hot menu and take advantage of accompanying things like pastries, yogurts, cereal and smoothies. I had the traditional Scottish breakfast and loved it. Huge portions I couldn't finish. If you have a table by the window the view is amazing looking over Waverly market into the historic backdrop of the city. Vibes are so posh and modern, loved being able to spend several days eating here!

Really nice Scottish restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh. Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties (10 GBP) - These little haggis balls were surprisingly tasty, especially with the whiskey peppercorn sauce (didn't taste like whiskey at all). The neeps and tatties (mashed potatoes and rutabaga) were also pretty good. Three Little Pigs (23 GBP) - The pork belly was a bit dry on the inside, and I don't happen to be a big fan of black pudding, but the rest of the dish was quite good. I thought the apple puree on the side was a nice light and sweet complement to the pork belly. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of this building on Princes Street and it is beautifully decorated on the inside with lots of historic Edinburgh framed photographs and a classy environment. I had a bit of a late dinner, but it was actually kind of empty in there with plenty of tables available. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The service speed is also fast. Overall, I thought Twenty Princes Street was a very high quality Scottish restaurant and I would highly recommend to both visitors and locals.

Beautiful restaurant with nice views.
The staff was really really nice. I asked the waitress for a recommendation, she recommended mussels. They were delicious, probably the tastiest mussels I?ve ever had, although several were broken?
Looking forward to coming again.

Beautiful inside and the view is spectacular. Get a table by the window (also be sure to check out the bathrooms!) My smoked salmon salad was divine.

I ordered a medium rare steak, it came out bleu rare. Sent it back, it came back mostly well done. I looked at the previous reviews and set myself up for a major disappointment. It is way overrated for what it provided. The taste for everything was not even good. DO NOT COME HERE.

Such a disappointing experiencing. My seafood orzo was tasty but my friend's pork belly was cold. Politely sent it back and when it came back the pork was hot but the potatoes were cold.
No-one checked on us, we sat with finished plates in front of us for around 20 minutes and overall the service was non-existent. The staff were then whispering about us when we asked to have the 12% service charge removed from the bill. I can't remember the last time I did not tip but I honestly can't remember ever experiencing such poor service.

We thoroughly enjoyed Afternoon Teat at Twenty Princes. The service was outstanding. Beautiful restaurant, not too loud. A pleasant, busy, late lunch crowd of varying ages. Lots of tea options (or coffee), and we each tried two. Nibbles and scones were delicious. Several local teas are rather expensive - this was affordable, elegant, and delicious. A real treat.

The building is old, the building is beautiful. Wonderfully decorated and clean! The restaurant was spacious and there was pegs to put our jackets on. Table was huge and more than enough for the group of 6 we had. Service was prompt.
The food was so so so so good! It was fantastic! Only gripe I will make is that when giving the steaks out. The server said Medium Rare, I repeated, he said medium rare again. I said the medium rare was mine. I was under the impression that my food was cooked too long, which didn't matter all too much because the flavour was really good. However it turned out another person in the group had my steak. Which I could see was cooked perfectly. I was very jealous and certainly would have preferred being served this one. The deserts also were very tasty and nice. I would definitely come back here!
