Beware of the deception of this company, you can change and pay by card throughout Scotland without going through the very expensive deception in the currency exchange. In Edinburgh you exchange at ?1.20 per pound without any commission. Never change us here.

Edit: thanks for your copy paste reply - but being transparent about a shockingly out of real terms exchange rate doesn?t make it ok. You can?t justify those exchange rates. Instead I?d preffer it if you?d kindly swivel away and do one instead.Don?t be a muppet like I was - do not use this exchange service. Just don?t.I knew that their exchange rate would be bad but I?m shocked at how bad it was. 80 quid difference compared to just using my bank card at an ATM on 200 quid currency is utterly pathetic and nothing short of a scam. They weren?t even able to offer buy back on currency for reasons they were unable to explain.Anyway I?m an idiot - don?t be an idiot like me.

Run away !A real scam, they take advantage of people who need local currency quickly to make money in the most hypocritical and shameful way!

If you are around 20% off the daily exchange rate, you are undoubtedly a SCAM.AVOID this place at all costs.

I have no words to describe what I naively feel, I wanted to exchange some money (euros) I was literally scammed 50 ? should give me approximately 42 pounds the cashier told me that I would have 41 pounds but on the ticket there are only 31 pounds. I was only able to realize this after leaving the airport that I was unable to return to the counter.

Went here after speaking to them on the phone for them not to mention their rate. The attitude off them when we got to speak to the actual humans for a change. The rate offered was 0.94? rather than the 1.14? minimum outwith the airport. What a mistake we made. I then said to them can you just change my Scottish notes to English as we know going abroad some country?s prefer the English notes. For them then to say no we don?t do that. I said all you?re doing is swapping them. No we?re not. Obviously costs them money and not for helping us. We then land is Lanzarote for the island to gladly take all our notes and give us 1.15?. We win the island wind and the uk loses once again.

AVOID. Day light robbery. scammers. $100 is at the official rate £79, so being a currency exchange at the airport I knew it wasn't going to be the greatest rate I was expecting around £85-88 for $100. No travelex are greedy thieves and charge £102+ it cost more GBP to buy $100. They should be forced out of the airport. Edinburgh airport need to remove the bunch of greedy thieves. I will be posting this review everywhere. They should be ashamed of themselves. And they aren't transparent with the rates as they don't display them. A petition should be started to get them removed from the airport. I will be complaining to Edinburgh airport and ask for travelex to be booted out of the airport this is a very bad experience for tourists. FCA should regulate and fine such companies. In response to your reply I didn't mean your rip off prices on your website but the actual official rate internationally. You have no shame. And I have submitted feedback to Edinburgh airport making a complaint that your rip off company should be expelled from Edinburgh as it's bad for tourism and the main complaint in the airport is travelex rip off rates. You should be ashamed working for such a rip off company.

Travelex makes their own exchange rate which is absolutely horrendous. They do this plus add a commission fee which completely screws you over. It?s an extremely unfair rate (almost 30% off from official rate) and just a rip off to get last minute travelers needing to exchange. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!

Don't use this service except in a dire emergency, it's a rip off. They count on people being in a hurry and not checking the current rates. The rate they offer you is way worse than the official rate. You wind up paying about a 20% premium for exchanging your money. I changed 500 US and it wound up costing me around 100 dollars. Then they had the nerve to charge a 5 pound fee on top of that. One of the dumbest mistakes I've ever made while traveling. This booth is here to cynically take advantage of fools. Please avoid.

Friendly agent. Easy experience.

Offered euro 189 for £200! By any measure that is a pitiful rate. Online rate says 1.14 but in the airport it's only 0.94.

Linda at the Travelex counter in Edinburgh Airport helped us exchange our GBP into Euros for our first trip to Cuba. We only found out that Euros were more readily accepted in Cuba than pounds at the last minute and Linda's professionalism allowed us to exchange our money without stress, even with us causing the added difficulty of exchanging some via cash and some via card. Couldn't recommend Linda enough.
