The food was excellent to say the least. My only pitfall was getting caught up in paying for water. We were offered sparkling or still as soon we sat down. Of course we said ?still? in a panic, not realizing we should have said TAP WATER. It was quite annoying when we were charged. I feel like they should express tap, sparkling or still water. Good way to get a little extra money out of you. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Some of the best burrata I?ve ever had.

What a magical place! There is absolutely nowhere else I'd rather stay now. We've been lucky enough to visit twice, and didn't want to leave. The care taken to ensure a memorable stay was clear to see, from the second we checked in.

Had the light lunch, cocktails and dessert yesterday and I cannot recommend highly enough. The food and drinks were amazing, fabulous service and a wonderfully enchanting place. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Edinburgh. Thank you for more than living up to my expectations!

My husband and I came here for our 30th Anniversary. We made a reservation the night before and mentioned we were here on our anniversary. When we arrived they sat us at a very nice table and said Happy Anniversary! The staff was so nice, so polite and so welcoming. The food was absolutely fantastic!!! The ambience was so nice!\\nWe had a cheese plate and port for dessert and the plate actually said Happy Anniversary on it. Wow! After we paid they called the taxi service for us and let us know when it had arrived. I couldn't imagine a better anniversary experience then this. Give this place a try if you're ever in Edinburgh you won't regret it. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable!!!

I always love staying here. Great service, lovely staff, food is great, especially the breakfasts, chips and roast potatoes. The Thai curry was amazing too. All of the food here is good, but these were my faves. Both of my children also managed to devour the pudding every night. The photo is the view from our room no 158. The dog enjoyed it too . Thanks to all the staff of the Savoy for yet another lovely stay. We will be back.

Perfect place! We had an amazing lunch and it was truly a lovely experience. Staff is very professional, friendly and polite. Food and drinks were delicious. Location is both convenient and special, taking into account the history of this place. The atmosphere in a restaurant is magnificent. You can even imagine being a royal living in such a castle-type building. Thank you and I hope to come back one day!

Came in for an impromptu dinner, and we left feeling enchanted!\\n\\nWe didn't plan on eating here, but after walking by and seeing how lovely this place looked, we couldn't resist taking a peek and seeing if we could get a table. Thankfully they were not too busy and we were able to get seated right away without a booking.\\n\\nThis is the coolest looking restaurant I have ever been to. The air is thick and dripping with mysterious and rustic atmosphere. Very much living up to the name in the aesthetics alone. Normally I would expect that a place like this survives on the atmosphere more than the service and food itself. Not so, in the case of The Witchery.\\n\\nThe food was excellent! We had the venison and the mushroom lasagna and they tasted wonderful.\\nThe service was also exceptional. Our server was very professional an friendly and made sure we were well looked after with our food and wine.\\n\\nThis was a wonderful, fun, and romantic experience and it's not just for show, this is a proper gourmet restaurant with service to match.\\n\\nIf you are on the Royal Mile and are looking for a novel experience and good food, please try The Witchery.

Quaint and inviting atmosphere. Adorable art and ambience.\\n\\nValentina was wonderfully funny and personable which made the experience more enjoyable.\\n\\nDid the light lunch option and the food was fantastic. It can get up there in price depending on wine selection and deserts, but it's definitely worth the visit.

Stayed here for our honeymoon in the Sempill suite. Absolutely exquisite. Nice little touches such as the complimentary champagne, truffles, Coffee machine and romantic breakfast were the icing on the cake. Stefan and Mark were great ?? will be returning to try the Turret out next time. The only thing I would say is that the bed is a little small and the pillows aren?t particularly comfortable? I woke up with a sore neck on our last day which was unfortunate. Other than that a beautiful place with an incomparable ambiance that would rival any hotel in the world.

A beautiful restaurant and a repeat visit. This time the experience was downstairs in the Secret Garden. The food was good but there?s some comments I?d like to add. Had to use the torch on my mobile phone to read the menu.. a couple of tea lights on the table just didn?t shed enough light. I appreciate the restaurant is candle lit but a few more candles would have been nice.Had a 25 minute wait for my cocktail..which I had to remind them about. We were table of four and went to enjoy ourselves and have fun.. we were at no point overly loud but almost felt like we shouldn?t have a laugh. The Bill was handed to me before I?d even requested it and I almost felt like we were being ushered out. It was only 9.55 and there were plenty of other free tables. Left slightly disappointed.

Absolutely delicious and a beautiful atmosphere to have a meal in. The back of the menu tells you all about the history of the building, the area, and inspiration behind the name. The paneling inside the restaurant is enough to look at but in combination with the beautiful decor and delicious food, it was worth the money without a doubt. The waiters were also extremely kind and helpful.
