Theres just something wholesome about shopping at the New Leaf.. the connections that happen there, the great selection of local produce, the freshly ground nut butters and locally made vegan cheeses. The New Leaf is an unpretentious and earthy cooperative that is a hub for the Meadows area. I love it

It?s like a tiny Wholefoods (for the Americans here), but friendlier! (And better for your wallet.)

Packaging free I got to pay for my food without paying for the marketing or packaging.Note for my fellow autistic folk it can be less busy in the mornings and more busy in the afternoons according to the staff

This is a gem of a shop run by lovely informed and friendly folk. Lots of great organic products and fresh food. Nuts, seeds, pulses, grains, pasta, coffee, spices, herbs, cleaning things and more, all by weight. Great value local sustainable shop.

Interesting green grocer in a large old Victorian shop just down from the Meadow. They have a good range of green teas, worth a visit.

Great local shop. Very environmentally friendly and lovely staff. There is a great selection of local organic produce at reasonable prices. I love the fact that you can refill your washing liquids and cleaning products (with no bleach). More places should have co-op's like this.

Great shop for in bulk zero waste, sustainable and vegan products as well as organic fruit and vegetables, very tasty bread, cleaning products and much more at a fair price. Also the staff is very friendly. Absolutely recommendable! ??

A Marchmont institution! Loads of vegan, vegetarian and organic groceries, including fill-your-own and dry goods by weight. It's amazing how much the New Leaf have managed to fit into the space, so even if you are looking for something fairly obscure, they're bound to have it.

Very friendly shop with lots of excellent organic and fair trade products. You can make you own peanut butter as well as almond and cashew butters! I think almond is on Monday and cashew on Tuesday but do check their website for accurate information.

A delicious smell of spices welcomes customers to this alternative fruit and veg business. The staff are an unusual mixture of bearded green warriors and attractive young women. Their product selection is first class and not too expensive.

Like a convenient corner shop, but completely ethical and wholesome. The bread is gorgeous and the back room with the By Weight items is great. Remember to bring your own bag ;)
