The awards and recognition are richly deserved at this Leith gem. The seafood dishes are superb, with the combination of ingredients that tease the palate with waves of flavor. The presentations are artistic, and well presented. The staff excels. Great dinning experience!

It is Mitchelin Star, it is expensive so don't compare against other regular restaurants!!!!!!
From start to finish everything was fantastic. Staff, food, wines all excellent and all explained by very knowledgeable staff.
Thank you note also to Tom Kitchin for the signed notes wishing us Happy Retirement, Happy Wedding Anniversary (Ruby) and my wife's birthday which is why we were celebrating here

I died at the restaurant with a good friend of mine and enjoyed our meal and drinks. The food was excellent. The service was great and we were helped in selecting our food and drinks?.. My only little hesitation was that when you have an Expensive meal a 12 1/2% gratuity is very high. The service was good but when it?s an expensive meal you end up paying a lot for the service which however Good still doesn?t warrant it at 12 1/2% otherwise everything else was excellent.

We had a lovely meal which was nice but not overwhelming. Had the attention to detail been better, less noisy then it would have given a better feeling for the night. Empty bottles, glasses that could have easily been taken away especially when more drinks were brought massively left the small table looking a mess. I'm guessing this is why the restaurant only has one Michelin star which must be just down to the food. We opted for the a la carte only because the 3 tasting menus (one was vegatarian) on offer were a surprise- with no idea what we are getting and with us both having to have the same option we preferred to order what we knew we would like which we did but it would have been nice to have seen if our options would have been on the tasting menu with 2 other courses to try also- we will never know. The wine choices were good which again left me disappointed because had I choosen the tasting menu accompanying wines would have been nice. Lovely cheese selection for my dessert and my wife had the rhubarb souffle which possibly tasted a little burnt- certainly not as expected even though it all got finished.

Compliments from Australia! Amazing service from the staff who went over and above to make sure we were comfortable. We frequent a lot of Michelin star restaurants - the vegetarian tasting menu was superior to others I've tried due to a lot of variation of ingredients (not just the usual mushroom option) resulting in lots of different textures/flavours. The rhubarb cocktail was so good! Reasonable affordability too. Had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.

As an ex chef, travelling the world and restaurants, the Kitchin lays all others to shame. The food was like nothing I had tasted before, unbelievable excellent, the service was impeccable and the wine pairing is a must. A table visit from Tom was a very welcome surprise. We will be back again and again. I have to say the 'Smokey' cocktail was something rather special.

Tom Kitchin has a masterful touch when it comes to food, and the team put together a wonderful veggie menu for my better half, including some extra-stinky blue cheeses that sent him to heaven.
I had a pescatarian menu for the first time and it was delightful! The scallops were such a highlight, but it was so hard to choose a favorite.
We'll be back for sure!

This is a special place by the quayside. Prepare to spend $$$$ on an exquisite tasting menu of locally sourced ingredients. The scallops from the Orkneys were exceptional. Extensive wine list, fabulous cocktails and attentive staff. Foodie paradise.

Our experience at the restaurant was exceptional from start to finish. We were warmly greeted by the friendly man and lady at reception. The waiting staff, especially Mia, Quinton, and the floor manager from Croydon, were not only excellent and friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the food and wine.
I had initial reservations about the food, but every dish, including some of my husband's, was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations. I opted for the wine pairing with my set lunch, which complemented the meal perfectly, while my husband enjoyed some delightful gin cocktails. The complimentary dishes were a delightful surprise, offering unique and delicious flavors. Every course, from starter to cheese, was outstanding. The highlight was when Tom, the chef and owner, personally greeted us, which truly made our day. I'm already looking forward to returning to Edinburgh to try the taster menu!
