Visited for lunch today and ended up spending a few hours playing pool!Food was great, I had Fish and Chips, my partner had a Burger.Best thing about our visit was the lovely Lauren who took care of us and then some, she is an asset.Thank you Lauren, we will be back soon.

Friendly staff, warm and accommodating. After a long walk up the hills can safely say the steak and ale pie was a lovely hearty meal that tasted fresh and was full of flavour!

The Flotterstone is a great little bolt hole after a ride or walk in the Pentland Hills?a great choice of beers and meals.

Lovely and kind people there

Do you enjoy Edinburgh prices mixed with weird rural service? If so, the Flotterstone might be for you!Horribly overpriced, substandard food. Who knows what the drinks are like because virtually everyone drives to this place. The staff have that weird attitude you sometimes get in touristy country places where they clearly don't care about their customers as they i) have no competition and ii) don't expect repeat custom. Avoid.

Nice pub, but it took a while to get served.

Awful place.Me and my dad made a booking and turned up, the girl behind the bar ignored us when we walked in and made us waiting for 5/10 minutes serving other people. There is no menus, you have to go up to the bar to see what?s on the menu? you then have to go up to the bar to order and again the girl wasn?t serving us she just kept disappearing in the back.Awful customer service and poor personal skillsI would recommend the Steading 10/10 if you?re looking for a pub lunch !!

Nice enough. But in need of some investment. Food okay not great.

Thought I'd check out this pub for the first time, as it's quite prominent and I fancied a quick pint and some country pub vibes. The staff were fine but the pub is quite scruffy and tired inside and out. Cold draughts chilled the knees and ankles each time a customer entered the front door or serving staff brought in food, and the log burner and assorted Argos electric fans were fighting a losing battle. Busy with diners, but feels starved of investment.

Lovely situated pub was looking forward to a beer and some chips after our walk however although the beer was nice the chips are basically McDonald?s French fries and we had vegetable broth which was actually veg stock with overcooked frozen veg in it then we were charged £23,40 for 2 portions which was probably the most expensive soup and chips I?ve ever had! Drink but don?t eat I recommend

I should have read the reviews before going! This place is like a mix up of Fawlty Towers and one of those restaurants that you pay to get abused!it?s like Ant and Dec are going to jump out and say it was all a wind up! It was so bad that we were laughing outside about it! But actually they are the ones laughing with all the footfall and not giving a damn about their clients and taking the money off us! £40.00 for 5 cold coffees and Costco shortbread!! Total shambles!!

Had a great burger for lunch here. They are dog friendly. I was also grateful to be able to use the dedicated car park. And the fire was on which made it feel very cosy.

Diabolical service!!! I asked for an Irish coffee and it was the worstly served Irish coffee I?ve ever had in my entire life!! It was a coffee served in a tea cup and it was all stirred up like a cup of tea and I was charged £9 for it!! I was so upset and disappointed and the girl was so rude! Rubbish Irish coffee, rubbish service, nice old building, shame about the staff and the over priced prices!
