Recently had dinner and drinks here with some friends. Staff were really friendly and attentive. The meals were lovely, hot and tasty. I had the pie which was fantastic! Considering the location, overall the bill was not overall expensive which was a shock - as someone who lived in Edinburgh, I was fully expecting the bill... read full comment

Had my first visit today to this lovely pub food was fantastic and staff were lovely and very friendly was a pleasure to visit this wonderful pub and will definitely be visiting again
Stop for a pint at the Advocate, a charming pub in Edinburgh's old town. By day we're a relaxing pub attracting locals, office workers, and tourists. You can enjoy a pint of Belhaven Best or some classic pub grub. Once the sun goes down, the sounds of live music take over. Artists like Martin Andrews and Mike Patterson often take to the stage here. And with a capacity of 206, the atmosphere often gets pretty lively. This unique venue became a pub in the 90s. Sports fans are well catered to, with Sky Sports and TNT Sports while four-legged friends are always welcome – who doesn’t love a dog-friendly pub? Head to our beer garden when the sun’s out and don’t forget to make use of the free WiFi.
