“I've been coming here for years. I'm always impressed at how patient the checkout staff are with the many old people who live in the vicinity - some of whom are a bit confused with getting the right money together!”

“Nice place to shop.
Free parking.
Prices are very reasonable.
It's good because you can get all your regular groceries in one place.

Plus, it's a much better shopping experience since they refurbished the premises. All in all no complaints. Staff are also very helpful.”

“Okay…why do I shop chain versus independent…..I very much like Independent shops, shopping this Aldi was a good experience, first hour in Portobello neighborhood..tired after a long commute from West Kilbride….bought some berries, milk, yoghurt, salmon pieces, a heavily marbled salt aged rib eye ( yummy), salad greens and tomatoes..only spent 20.00!!!!
Freindly’ service, clean store, available self check out..location…..highly. Recommended”

“For such a small store, it’s surprisingly well-stocked and organized. The selection is solid, and you can find most essentials without a problem. However, I wish they had a bigger variety of fresh pastries — the current offer feels a bit limited. Overall, a convenient and reliable Lidl location.”

“This Asda holds surprise a inside. We were actually visiting the Edinburgh Corn Exchange next door but parked up in the Asda car park. So we popped into Asda to get a couple of items. Lo and behold there sits an actual McDonald's Restaurant behind the cash desks. I couldn't believe it!!! I have never came across a McDonald's in a supermarket before and an Asda at that. It was absolutely mobbed, due to the event at the Corn Exchange, so we weren't able to stop in. Well, it's good to know it's there if we are ever out that way again. It was a good sized Asda and we found everything that we needed OK and paid at the self checkout. A store with a good sized car park, everything you need and a bonus McDonald's Restaurant for when you have the munchies or get hangry. Hehe!”

“I haven't been in a while and I need to go back on a regular basis...the choice, quality and prices are great...you always meet someone lovely to chat to as well...today no exception...or am I just a gabby gal...lol”

“The shop is fine but they use a really nasty company to manage their parking place. I have spent too much time on their parking place two times as I also went shopping to a couple more places and they sent me the letters about the charge after the charge date was expired demanding extra payment due to an expired date.

EDIT: Lidl support email actually helped and the ticket that was expired at the delivery date was cancelled.”

“I happen to know that Morrisons is not always the best at treating its staff well - and that’s a major shame because Morrisons are a highlight of the Gyle Centre and it’s the staff that make it that way.

To begin with the Security guards - I’ve met four so far and they are all friendly and happy to help - contrast this to Tesco and you can see why I’m starting with security.

As you walk into the shop staff bustle around at pace, filling online orders but also adopting a helpful open presence which allows you to ask any questions you might have.

It’s clear who the team leaders are and they bring a sense of calmness to the shop floor.

The shop itself has a good range of options, a hot counter where you can buy chicken along with wedgies, chips sausages and other tasty bits and pieces.

Then there’s the salad counter which offers reasonably priced salads which are packed!

Then there’s the deli counter where you can buy cheeses, noodle pots, along side local favourites like scotch eggs and pork pies accompanied by cuisine like pakoras and samosas which I definitely recommend!

And the bakery and fish market - the first pumping out more bread and sweet treat types than you can name, and the second always having a super knowledgeable staff member for all things fish!

It wouldn’t be Morrisons without its reductions though and most days around 6PM you can find all kinds of treats and snacks - (or even full meals!) at 1/2 price.

The staff shine the most in the checkout section though as they go above and beyond for the customer - constantly on the ball all day and still able to build a rapport with so many different people which turns a ‘Supermarket into a local.’

The only negative as recently noted is the toilets - given my review of M&S my suggestion would be to relieve yourself there but shop here ;)”

“Love home bargain because who doesn't like a wee bargain. Customer service is always great. I've found tho that some of the toys I buy don't last long or there's something missing or broken so I think they need to have a look at why this is but other than that. Great shop”

“Morrisons Hunter’s Tryst – The Best Supermarket on Earth

If there were a championship for supermarkets, the Morrisons in Hunter’s Tryst would take the gold every time. This isn’t just any supermarket—it’s the best Morrisons in the world. Maybe even the best place on earth.

The Atmosphere – Pure Positivity

From the moment you step inside, you’re hit with nothing but good vibes. The staff? Incredible. Always smiling, always friendly, always making you feel welcome. It’s the kind of place where you actually enjoy grocery shopping.

The Music – A Playlist Like No Other

Whoever is in charge of the store playlist deserves an award. The music is always on point—the kind that makes you want to sing along while picking out your vegetables. It adds to the cozy, uplifting atmosphere that makes this Morrisons feel like home.

The Food – Perfection on Every Shelf

Anything you want? They have it. And not just have it—it’s fresh, clean, and perfectly stocked. Whether it’s the bakery, the fresh produce, or even the ready meals, you can count on this place to deliver top-quality food every single time.

The Experience – Like a Supermarket Disneyland

It’s never too busy, never stressful. Just a smooth, enjoyable shopping trip every time. And honestly? For me, this place is as magical as Disneyland. Cozy, welcoming, and just perfect.

If you haven’t been to the Hunter’s Tryst Morrisons, you’re missing out. Best staff, best music, best food, best everything. It’s simply the greatest supermarket in existence.”

“Fast and simple discount grocery store. Yet, they had everything I needed. A fresh bakery goods area as well as a variety of beers and liquors. Plenty to choose from in the frozen foods area and a large area of fresh fruits. The store is clean, well lit and decorated in primary colors that are pleasing to the eye. Fast and easy check out and of parking in a private parking lot. Prices were reasonable and as always in the UK, bring your own bags or be prepared to buy their. No bags provided whatsoever. The staff was pleasant and friendly.”

“Usual Aldi setup with a great range of groceries and a decent price ... And if you're lucky you'll be able to pick up a car battery charger and a canoe while you're getting your loaf if bread!”

“26th Sep 2023 - same details as my last review. A great wee visit. They have now stopped home delivery, which is a shame. Lady on the checkout was very nice, very apologetic for my wait even though she was working her socks off and it was very busy at the till. I'll return. Review upped to 5, given the consistency.Only not 5 because I give 5 if something is over and above. Clean, tidy, well merchandised, priced clearly, very pleasant staff. They're very limited for space but do well with what they have. Have been before and will return.”

“I’m not a huge fan of craighleith retail park - it’s a sadly depressing place and given it was built on one of the most important quarry’s - they completely overwrote its history.

However, M&S is the shining light - everything is done well here from customer service to the cafe and the clothes store.

I once witnessed a woman fall over faint in 2024 and the speed and kindness the staff treated her with deserves to be commended.

My go-to in Edinburgh if taking the family for a cafe outing.”

“Morrisons is a great place to shop, It's got everything you need including fresh fish and meat, fresh fruit and plenty other foods like the usual staples but also sells other foodstuffs from different countries so all in all it's great and the prices are really decent so I goto Morrisons every week to get my shopping which saves me plenty compared to corner shops like R.S Mcolls who are really expensive.”

“Usual suspects, South Edinburgh crowd who like their luxuries :) has a reasonable parking area which is great. Coffee stop for members inside the premises, they also have a fantastic meat counter, sushi, flower section and an ok array of wine and drinks.”
