We stayed here for 3 nights. Right off the bat we got the impression that we made the right choice as young-ish travelers, this place is FUN - colourful artworks everywhere, cutesy hip phrases written everywhere and a casual, chill and friendly environment. The reception faces the Three Sisters pub which is super lively throughout the day and especially at night.The rooms aren't huge but good value for money, they're quite well cleaned and funky looking, with Bluetooth speakers and veeery nice showers. The problem with these rooms is that the music and noises from the pub can be clearly heard inside, despite the triple glazed windows. This is also true about the noises from the next room neighbour's shower, which sounds like someone is showering inside your room. Despite this, and because we're not very fussy sleepers, we slept quite well in the soft, large bed.The only real issue we had during our stay happened during check-out. We came down in the morning and handed the keys, and all we got from the receptionist was an "ok". No follow up questions on how our stay was or anything, which was pretty disappointing cause we would happily share the feedback directly instead of reviewing online. We then asked to store our luggage for a while and the receptionist pointed us to the unlocked, staff-only closet and told us to help ourselves. We doubted ourselves about leaving the bags there but trusted this wasn't a common occurrence, however when we came to pick them up, we saw a group of pub patrons going in to put their own bags which is definitely not secure at all.If this issue is addressed we will happily stay in Stay Central again.Safety: They don't ask for ID at check in which I believe is common in Scotland. Room floors can be accessed without a key. There is no security whatsoever in the bags storage room.Walkability: Veeeery very close to Royal Mile and lots of bars and pubs on the same street of the hotel. Places to eat and visit literally 2 minutes away.

We stayed here for three days, and it couldn't have been better. The location was perfect for how cheap we got the room.The service at the front desk was great, and they were always happy to help.Rooms: Beds were very confontable, and the room was clean with many amenities such as a heater hair dryer coffee and tea station and a tv with netflix on it.

It has an unbeatable location to visit the entire old town on foot.Our room was very large, beds comfortable and the staff very pleasant and attentive.Upon arrival I noticed a lot of cleanliness, but they did not clean the room during my stay, they did not even make my bed.Despite the latter, it is 100% recommended.

It's very cheap for a hotel right in the middle of Edinburgh, it's very basic but very clean, you are above a very noisy pub, i.e., the three sisters , it didn't bother us and you are providing with ear plugs. Breakfast was included and really nice, however on the second morning we came down for breakfast and were told there was a problem in the kitchen so no breakfast was available that we had paid for, they did have other arrangements for us but it meant going back to the bedroom to put coats on and walk for 5 minutes to another hotel to get breakfast, not ideal but at least we got breakfast.Also this hotel is situated in an unpleasant location hence the prices. It did the job for a short stay

Quite nice, but definitely a young person's place due to the amount of noise other stag and hen parties generate!Safety: Be aware there is a lot of vagrants panhandling immediately outside the hotels entrance

Tiny room for the price, ridiculous size of the sink... yes, it was clean.The receptionist coincidentally made a mistake when she tried to charge me for the stay... she wanted to charge us ?382... instead of ?328... we told her and she didn't respond at all... she changed it and that's it... the rooms won't be cleaned if you don't tell her .. there is noise at night due to a bar they have downstairs.

Clean and functional rooms but be careful, the ceiling is quite low.We had requested twin beds but the request was not followed. We had to wait for the room to be redesigned. Disappointing breakfast: no fruit juice and no bread....after our request they brought us slices of bread that were still frozen...Nearby activities: Ideally placed for nightlife: bars, pubs, clubs

Not good experience here - we walked in off the street into the bar like any other pub on the Cowgate and we were instantly met by a very rude lady who told us to leave as bar was for hotel guests only!

Good, clean room. Staff very nice and accommodating. If you are going to something in the neighborhood, this is the place to stay.

Original rooms, the staff always nice and friendly. The breakfast was ok if the chef was there. Otherwise, cold, loveless, it won't be refilled.Unfortunately, you can't think about sleep before 2 a.m. The Three Sister party castle, right next door, is booming loudly.I often go to Edinburgh, I won't be checking in here anymore.

Fastidious in design and cleanliness, tons of cool features like built-in BlueTooth sound in the room and USB wall plugs.Could not be closer to everything you come to see in Edinburgh. Clever architecture and artwork, staff are polite, wifi is fast and standard of fit and finish punches above price.

A pleasant surprise. Excellent hotel. Young and friendly staff, excellent location and rooms with beautiful windows and views. Excellent breakfast and in addition to the buffet they give the possibility of having hot dishes with English or rather Scottish breakfast.
