I was disappointed with this hostel. There is no real common room, only the reception area which is always really crowded and it was difficult to find a seat. The so called ?chill out area? is an absolute joke, it?s a locker room with no windows that smells like a mix of pee and weed, which makes it impossible to spend more than 2 minutes in that room. Also something to be aware of is that you have to pay to store your luggage, which I find a bit unfair on the backpackers. There is no common kitchen, only a tiny fridge which was so packed and absolutely not sufficient for the amount of people staying there.I stayed for three nights and during that time the fire alarm went off twice for no reason which was a bit annoying. The cleanliness was okay, it wasn?t amazing but that?s kind of what you?d expect. There was so soap in our room the first day and also some small stains on my duvet? To be fair, the location is amazing, the hostel could not be more central so that was really nice.

The location is excellent. The services are very good: the only thing is that they have very small bathrooms and there is no area to change after showering.Otherwise very good. Sheets and duvet and clean bathrooms. And the breakfast they offer is spectacular and at a very good price. The bar next door is very good, warm and with good promotions.

Super location right next to Waverley Station. Short walk into the old and new towns. Rooms are well looked after and expect typical hostel accommodation. Opposite Belushi's where breakfast is served and you can get 25% off food. Cafe in same building as the hostel which offers lovely coffee. Common room is small and very basic. Lockers available for £1.50/£2.50 for 24 hours.

The picture speaks for itself, I took off the cover of my duvet, and there was this ginormous yellow stain. Luckily, I had already spent the night sleeping with it. I took it to reception and they were just like oh I?m sorry. No remedy nothing. I mean what can you even do at that point? Also the room was freezing the entire night, I kept having to get the front desk to come and fix it. And when I told him it was cold he goes OK. and stare at me blankly. I was like, so what are you going to do about it? Heating in Edinburgh in March is not exactly optional.

It's okay for the price. Rooms are a bit crowded, but most people are just staying there for two reasons: work and travel. I would definitely bring your own towels and locks, as you have to rent otherwise or use coin operated lockers. The lounge has a kitchenette with a microwave, kettle and fridge, but if you want a more robust meal, you'll need to go to a pub or restaurant.

Edinburgh is unfamiliar to me, and my last visit was a long time ago. I wanted to stay close to the train station and wherever I was going. It is a great location, very close to the park where the Christmas market was held, as well as all the tourist attractions and high-street shops. The rooms were quite rudimentary. Fortunately, there was no trouble, and the residents were respectful. The hostel's lack of cleanliness in various sections is one drawback. Beside that, the staff were couteous depending on who was on duty. They don't give you much information, and I had to find things out myself.Walkability: Great location.

My stay at the St Christopher Inn Hostel in Edinburgh was great! The quality of the beds and rooms was impeccable, giving me a comfortable night's sleep. The accompaniment and breakfast were also top, providing a good start to the day. The only downside was that the showers seemed a bit basic with their "plastic" appearance, but given the affordable price and the friendly atmosphere of the hostel, it was completely acceptable. I recommend this place to anyone looking for comfortable, friendly accommodation in Edinburgh.

Offered to pay for a bed for a honeless lad and got the police sent on us, at 2300 they stormed into the room and chucked us our. Disgusting and upsetting.

The worst hotel ever! The electricity went out in the middle of the night. We were stuck in the elevator and we had to call the emergency services to get us out! The room stinks like mad!! Don?t book this place.

It?s a well located hostal. The beds were too small, instead of 2 levels we got 3 so, it was a bit claustrophobic. But it was an amazing place to meet people and good service.

Very nice hostel next to the train station. I can only recommend it as it's location is wonderful, it's clean, prices are great and there's a bar that is part of the hostel where hostel guests get great discounts on food and a selection of drinks. The rooms are very spacious with big lockers under the beds and toilets/showers are outside the rooms and very modern. Special thank you to Anthony, a very friendly receptionist who seems to always be very helpful and kind.
