We have recently sold our property with Simpson & Marwick, and they handled the process smoothly from start to finish. We were working against tight timescales over the Christmas and New Year period, but they kept us updated throughout and helped us to achieve a successful sale. Would certainly recommend!

(While the company did finally provide compensation, it's important to note that I still experienced a significant opportunity cost as a result of their actions.)It has undeniably been the most regrettable experience of my lifetime, dealing with a solicitor team that exhibited a severe lack of professionalism and courtesy. Initially, I placed my trust in them based on their positive Google reviews, which now appear to be misleading and have led to significant frustration and inconvenience on my part. The solicitor in question was Shari, who astonishingly took a full year to complete the anti-money laundering check, despite my having submitted all required documents promptly. To compound matters, she repeatedly requested the same information, leading to redundant submissions. Regrettably, she ceased all communication, failing to respond to both my emails and those from the seller's side. My attempts to reach her went unanswered for two months until she seemingly disappeared without a trace.I was dismayed to find myself in such a predicament. In desperation, I enlisted the assistance of the estate agent, who contacted Joni, the National Head of Conveyancing. However, this interaction proved to be equally disheartening, as Joni not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also declined to provide any insight into the unilateral breach of contract, responding in a profane manner.I strongly advise against engaging with this company. As a result of their inefficiency, my funds remained in limbo within my bank account, as I had initially believed they could promptly resolve their business matters. Consequently, I have incurred substantial financial losses due to the failure of Simpson & Marwick to deliver on their commitments.

I had previously used the legal team of Simpson & Marwick when buying a property in Edinburgh, and had been very impressed with the service I received. Nearly ten years on I had no hesitation in engaging the estate agency team to sell the property and the legal team to deal with the conveyancing of both the sale and purchase of a new property. The service I received was seamless and highly professional throughout. In particular, their communication was outstanding.

Not very professional, leaving clients waiting whilst they "look for" documents that they seem to have lost. It's been days, I've called multiple times, and not even to call back after telling me they would. Not a single moment of respect for me as a client. Outrageous.

I I first used Simpson & Marwick c. 6 years ago when I sold a property in the Scottish Borders. At that time I found them to be extremely efficient and quick to respond to phone calls and emails. When I eventually sold the property they achieved a sale price that far exceeded my expectations.Fast forward 6 years and I'm about to put my flat on the market in Edinburgh.I approached 6 Estate agents (Including Simpson & Market) to see if there was much difference in the selling costs and the marketing packages offered.The quote from Simpson & Marwick wasn't the cheapest, but based on my previous experience and the way their representative spoke when visiting my property, I went ahead and engaged them again.Once again, I found them extremely efficient. I was given a dedicated web page that showed exactly where they were in terms of pulling together the various elements of the sale - Home Report, Floor Plan. 3D tour, photos, brochure production etc.At any time, I could see exactly how things were progressing.When the property went live on the market, I could see how many people had viewed the page, downloaded the Home report, even how many times the virtual tour had been viewed.As a side note, the company they used to do the virtual tour did an absolutely superb job in showing the flat at it's best, even coming back on a sunny day to shoot the outside of the property in the sunshine!My property was on the market for 9 days, at which point we had enough notes of interest to go to a closing date.To summarise, they may not be the cheapest estate agents in the city, but you get what you pay for with Simpson & Marwick: -* They're very responsive and can get the property on the market quickly* They provide a 2nd to none marketing platform and promotion assets* Ultimately they realised a great selling price for my flat, beyond my expectations.I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, easily worthy of a 5* Review!

Working with S&M was a breeze from start to finish. They respond very quickly to any emails, calls etc. They are very comfortable giving advice and handling the situation. The online booking system is amazing it made it so easy for me to manage viewings. Would work with them again for sure - we sold our flat in a week!

Having lived in the same property for 17 years, moving house seemed daunting. I can honestly say you don?t need to feel worried, fearful, or nervous if you are thinking of moving.Simpson and Marwick from the initial chat to list our house, right through to completion of missives were like having a safety blanket around you at every stage.They kept us informed on what to do and why. Katie was excellent at keeping a high-level view on what was happening. A special thanks goes to Philip for his professionalism during the negotiation stages. So calm and clear which really helped. Daniel was also great during the sale and Natalie was a legend navigating us through all of the legalities. All the team were courteous, no question was a silly question and they were super helpful.What was very good during the sale was the personalised portal where you could login and see all the stats for views, downloads, visits, comments and offers. All held in one place it meant you knew where to go for all information.Having looked for years to find our new home I can honestly say, to anyone looking, use Simpson and Marwick. I cannot recommend them more highly.

Bought our house via Simpson and Marwick and they were exceptionally poor. Continually vague and unresponsive with our solicitor eg we moved in without knowing what white goods were in the house despite multiple requests for a simple list of what would and wouldn't be in the kitchen/ utility. Would in no way recommend.

I found the service we received terrible. Communication was infrequent (it took days to receive email replies), unclear and very unfriendly. We had no awareness of what would happen and when, the process was never explained. I had to phone in to understand what was happening, but phone lines were often busy. Mistakes were made on the forms, even though the correct information had been provided. We felt extremely disappointed by the way we were treated. This all caused us significant stress and anxiety.
