First time we've stayed since the upgrade back in 2014 ish, really disappointed, the upgrade has turned what was a stunning interior, grand staircase in reception, real porcelain in the rooms, Cleopatra baths and other luxurious in the spa to a cheap version of everything, rooms are basic and cheap, who ever designed the supposed upgrades especially in the spa should go back to designing agriculture sheds, basically a 3 to 4 star experience at 6 star prices. What was hoping to be a luxurious weekend stay was not much better than a Premier Inn.What I will say is the breakfast was very good.Rooms: Very basic, half price would be about the right price

We had a lovely stay here in a castle view room which felt really special although quite a bit more expensive for the view. The room was huge with a great layout, beds massive and very very comfy!! I think the decor could be updated but this may be my preference but is spotlessly clean! We had an issue with our first room with the heating not working so they kindly moved us to another castle view room however this one seemed slightly more dated it looked like they may be working through the rooms updating TVs etc as we ended up with an extremely old TV but this wouldn?t impact our stay but for a 5* hotel one would expect modern TVs and a more updated decor.A highlight of mine was the ambient lighting that you could change the colour on with a click of a button - this is a very nice touch.Staff are fabulous and extremely friendly and helpful. We did order room service for one drink unaware it is a £5 fee to use the service so we did end up paying £8 for a drink so just be aware as we weren?t. It is a big hotel with lots of rooms but it didn?t feel busy, there?s 3 lifts so you aren?t waiting long. Gym is adequate but nothing to shout about and the pool is a good size and nice to be able to use. We did also pay for the one spa access which was great we especially loved the hydro pool but with paying for this access is makes the room and experience very expensive and it didn?t quite reach the 5* standard in our opinion and although we did enjoy our time it wasn?t quite as luxury as we felt it should be at this price point. I hope this review helps!

Hotel located in the heart of Edinburgh, a stone's throw from the castle.Exceptional service, possibility of dining in their restaurant with truly refined and exceptional dishes.

I stayed there for 3 nights, in room 418. One of the worst hotels in the Sheraton chain. Breakfast is ridiculous, especially at peak times. They have no buffet. Instead, they take your order at the table. We gave our order (typical Englich breakfast) and waited for 40 minutes (!), but the food never arrived. After complaining repeatedly, we left because we did not want to waste our morning. They apologized and said they would refund our breakfast, instead. But I could see other tables complaining, as well. As for the room service, this is poor too. On the 2nd day, the room was not serviced at all. We did have the "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging in the morning for EXACTLY 40 minutes only, between 12-12.40 . When we returned to the room, at 19.30, the room was not serviced. They said that they came to clean the room during this interval, but they never bothered coming back later (we had only hanged the sign for 40 minutes). They just did not bother servicing the room, at all. Overall, it is a hotel at a good location. BUT with the worst service. Not at Sheraton standards, nor a 5* hotel, by any means. This hotel is probably one of the worst, with the Sheraton logo of hotels. Considering the rates they charge; I would say not a good choice for sure, despite the good location. The only excellent service at this hotel, is the staff at reception. Really they are very friendly. Too bad they cannot fix all other bad things.UPDATE 19/02/24: The ?breakfast supervisor? said that she reported the incident with our breakfast to the Hotel Manager. And that the Hotel Manager would contact us asap and apologize on behalf the hotel. And also, refund 1 days? worth of breakfast charges. ? Well, we checked out on 18/02/24, and absolutely no-one from the hotel, nor the hotel?s management tried to contact us. Also, they never refunded the 1-day?s breakfast, that the supervisor said they would. I have no hopes for a refund, anymore ? Farewell, to the WORST SHERATON HOTEL we ever stayed. Something is very seriously wrong, with this hotel.
