I wanted to take a moment to share some positive feedback about my recent experience at the Pret A Manger on Lothian Road in Edinburgh. I was truly impressed by the exceptional service provided by a team member named Michael.
From the moment I walked in, Michael was warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. He greeted every customer with a genuine smile and went out of his way to ensure everyone felt valued and looked after. His attention to detail, cheerful attitude, and efficiency made my visit not just enjoyable but memorable.
It?s rare to come across someone who balances friendliness with such high standards of service. Michael is a real asset to the team, and I hope this feedback is passed along to let him know the difference he makes in customers? days. Thank you for employing such dedicated and kind staff!

Great place also allows a desperate 3 year old to use their toilet unlike the horrible nasty staff at the odeon over the road. Clean and tidy too. Thanks guys ?

Congrats, Pret?truly outstanding customer disservice.
I spent nearly £25 (not £3.50) at the Lothian Road branch towards the end of today and got treated like a nuisance. The till guy (tall, skinny, possibly European accent) was no where to be seen when I was ready to pay and when did finally appear at the til he seemed to struggle with basic tasks like using the til or organising to even reheat a cold toastie?and then he had the audacity to come over to publicly scold us for sitting down for 5 minutes (with 9 mins left before the shop was due to close).
Apparently, takeaway means you get zero respect, no matter how much you spend. When we explained we were just about to leave he rudely walked off mid-sentence. Very Classy!
If arrogance was an olympic skill, he?d have a gold medal by now am sure. Avoid this branch?unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience for giving them your money. Reading the previous reviews I believe this til guy seems to have a recurring habit of this level of non existent Customer Service and Pret has clearly not listened to the reviews left.
Btw, to sit-in or ?dine in ?as they call it (whether it's 5 minutes, 3 hours or even 9 minutes before the shop closes like today) Pret charges the 20% more - as he loudly confirmed in front of the whole shop! . This is like daylight robbery regardless of today's experience. This additional fee isn't justified: the customer is not even served by the staff to ?dine? at the table, but we do it ourself and then go to the till to pay for our baguette's/toasties . So, after paying an exorbitant price for food, customers have to pay also if their butts rest on Pret's chairs. Absolutely disgusting!

Absolutely terrible service. I went in to buy a soup for lunch, and while at the counter, a staff member named Mariucz rudely told me that outside food wasn?t allowed even though I wasn?t planning on eating it there. It was just some bread and ham, and I was only going to have the soup.
To make matters worse, he then went around loudly announcing to customers that there are different prices for dine-in and takeaway as if we couldn?t read the signs ourselves. When I mentioned that I forgot to scan my Pret rewards, his response was a dismissive ?too late.? No attempt to be helpful or even polite.
I?ve been to many Prets, and this is by far the worst experience I?ve had. Won?t be coming back.

I visited Pret at Lothian Road on 07/02 at 1:30pm and I was served by a man called Mausz?he was really, really rude! If you?re not willing to provide good customer service, you shouldn?t work in hospitality.?

Best Sandwiches

Nice calm place, staff service is great,, served with a smile. Very clean, including the toilets. Coffee is fantastic.
We revisited about 3 hours later for a brunch and a coffee on our way back home, the place was a lot quieter but still the staff welcomed us with a smile, placed our order and we're told to take a seat and they would bring our order to the table. My tuna and cucumber sandwich really nice as was my friends toastie. That with a coffee was suffice. The shelves were still adequately filled even if it was later in the day, so plenty to choose from.
Tables were very clean as was the floors and toilets, staff were very polite and as we left the manager recognised us from our first visit and commented on that and wished us a safe journey and thanked us for revisiting Pret.
Thanks once again guys, great service.

Rude staff. My friend brought a croissant and she is deciding to order some food from pret while i am eating as I ordered from Pret. Then the staff just rushed to us and told her she cannot eat there in a very rude way . We felt we are not welcomed and won?t come here again.
If there is any rule with forbidden food , he can just tell us and we totally understand instead of just rushing to us and scolding at us.

Every time I return to the UK, Pret is a guarantee; great prices, fantastic food and something for all tastes. Very kind staff, like everywhere in Scotland ??

Great coffee, slightly more expensive than a supermarket sandwich but I think worth it. Was served by a gentleman today who's name I can't recall (started with an M) very kind and friendly - made my morning.
