Shocking experience. Staff were never present, having to ring a doorbell and then wait 20 mins for someone to arrive. They were extremely rude and unhelpful, even the managers who I dealt with. I came in December 2023 and have been emailing and phoning since then with still no replies. The hotel billed me an extra £80 due to their fault in the parking T&C?s. The car park said they do this all of the time and are rude even to them. Would not recommend this hotel at allRooms: Premier plus room nice but very overpriced

Disgusting, in every respect. Avoid this hotel at all costs.First impressions weren't great - faulty front door that doesn't open fully; no reception staff, just two check-in terminals, one of which was out of order.On arriving at the room, one of the two keycards didn't work. The room itself smelled bad, like sweaty feet. It seemed like the room had been mostly cleaned, but there was dust covering the upper parts of the wall. The rest of the walls were shabby, scuffed, with paint chipped off and there was water damage in the bathroom. The fabric headboard of the bed was stained.We raised concerns with the duty manager who, to her credit, was appalled and promised to escalate to her manager and promised also that we would be refunded. We did this all very calmly, politely and discreetly. We were told someone would contact us later that day.Nobody called, so we had to chase it up. When my wife got through to the manager, he suggested that this wasn't the first time they were hearing the issues we had raised in this hotel (perhaps over-sharing!). We were asked to contact guest relations to process the complaint/refund.We emailed guest relations, including pictures. A few days later we received a reply saying that the room had been inspected and our complaints weren't upheld, and so no refund could be offered, only an apology. We were informed that the matter was concluded and no further correspondence would be entered into.An apology for what? For not taking our concerns seriously? For ignoring the evidence we provided on the day? For implying that we were lying? Or for a combination of all of the above?Apology not accepted.Rooms: The stale smell

There was a party of 8 of us and we were supposed to check in at 3ocklock.We never got in our room till 3.40.My sister-in-law who doesn't keep well disnt get into her room till 4.10.One of our party is in her 80s she was also kept waiting.We had a meal booked for 5 at a restaurant so it wasn't great for someone in her 80s with a walking frame trying to rush.When my daughter and nice went to speak to the manager she was quite rude.She said how do you expect all the rooms ready for 3 when the hotel is busy?I must admit I have never had a problem in any other premier inns.Usually when most people go to Edinburgh it is for a show and timing is everything.We felt it was false advertising as we were all led to beleive we would be in our rooms about 3 o'clock You don't mind maybe 15mins late but 1hr 10mins is disgusting and the attitude of the manageress was totally inexcusable especially when people that came in much later than us got there rooms right away.Nearby activities: Great location for the theatre and restaurants.
