Pretty shop, good machines, great location?? but DIRE service.Having lost touch with my online account after a move, the only thing to do was contact my nearest Nationwide branch. Mistake! 2 tellers kept their head firmly down while one poor chap attempted to deal with a handful of customers and was making very heavy weather of it. After waiting a fruitless 25 minutes, I gave up! Understaffing to this extent is laughable. Are they on a nationwide suicide mission, or is it only in Edinburgh? But no problem, the service at Santander just along the street is impeccable, so it is no hardship to walk away from a Nationwide account.

I tried to move money from my Nationwide savings account to a savings account with another provider in March, as they offered a better interest rate. Nationwide blocked the transfer and also blocked access to my savings account, current account and online banking.I need access to my savings to pay rent and bills due to the increase in the cost of living.Nationwide have refused to let me access my own money for 8 months, causing a lot of financial difficulty. I have been a customer for nearly 30 years and this is how they treat you. Things are difficult enough in the current economy, without financial service providers making it worse by preventing you from accessing your own savings. Nobody on the phone or in the branch will give me a reason for my accounts being blocked and I don't know who to contact for help.

Person on counter didn't do what I or my mother asked about sorting out a kids saving account to be transferred over to my name since I'm over 18. Lied about it, and wasted my time. Thought for the last week something was wrong as I couldn't access that account, went to morningside branch and they explained its still in my mother's name. I'm only giving it two stars cause some of the other staff were nice.

I?ve been a client of the now closed George Street and now the St Andrew Square branch for over two decades and I have nothing but praise to give to these guys during this Covid19 times. From the cashiers to the front desk operator, to the mortgage advisor, be certain that they?ll try their best to help you out.Like most of us I?ve been using internet banking for a very long time, which means that there was no need for me to get to that office personally but when my debit card got charged by a Hong Kong company (via London) for some electronic goods that were paid for but never delivered I was forced to pay them a visit for a ?chargeback?. On producing all the relevant documentation supporting my case (email communication with that dodgy company asking for a refund, bank statements, etc.) the very efficient & professional front desk operator assured me that I?ll get a full refund within 10 working days (through my debit card company) ? and I did?Full marks for them; keep up the good work!!!
