Excellent place for seafood and of course mussels in Edinburgh. Mussels were as fresh as they get. Sea bass and oysters as well. Service was prompt. They got us in and out without rushing us to make good on a reservation following us. Nice atmosphere for a small but mighty establishment.

The mussel was fresh and the paste tasted very good. I definitely will come again when I am in town next time

Food was ok, but very small portions. Servers were happy to help at first then was like screw you. Frustrated when asked to remove something we didn't get and when asked to take the 10% service fee off. Very bad experience since it was our anniversary. Also most expensive meal we had in Edinburgh.

When friends heard that we were going to Edinburgh for holidays, they strongly recommended that we pay a visit to Mussel Inn for a meal. We were surprised that the restaurant was packed when we arrived for dinner. We were also surprised that the majority of the diners were Asians. We ordered, among others, mussel pots, seafood chowder and seafood platter. The seafood platter was really excellent. Packed with goodies, it was delicious. Those who ordered the mussel pots also said that it was good.

Just excellent, we had a platter of hot seafood. It was excellent. And the plate of pad thai with shrimp and small vegetables. Perfect fit

There is a local specialty seafood restaurant, which specializes in mussels. The cooking method is special and very delicious. The spaghetti is also good.

I enjoyed a delightful meal at Mussel Inn Seafood Restaurant, starting with incredibly fresh oysters and perfectly cooked mussels. The **Seafood Hot Platter** was the highlight, featuring a superb selection of fresh, flavorful seafood. To top it off, the **Sticky Toffee Pudding** was a fantastic dessert, rich and satisfying. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy. A must-visit for seafood lovers!

This is a recommended restaurant if you want to eat mussels.
It's a blissful moment when you devour the abundance of mussels in the pot while dipping the baguette in the soup made with mussel stock.
Unlike the mussels you can buy at supermarkets, the flesh is plump and very delicious. Mussels are also available in half sizes. I like Charlotte, but all flavors are good.
The customer service from the very friendly female staff is also great. Advance reservations are required as it is always crowded.
Recommended!!

Twenty years ago I worked in hospitality during summer breaks. I travelled to the beautiful coasts of Spain, and served beer and casseroles in the oldest pubs in old Dublin. Then I made it to good, old Scotland. I settled in the capital. I needed a job quickly. I paid £50 for a week at a hostel, which left me with just £30 and no ticket back home to continental Europe.
I got a job.
As a kitchen porter.
I started from the bottom. The next year I came back to the same job during the world-renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The manager and the head chef gave me a job and offered to train me as a chef. I learned a lot there. By respecting others and learning from people who know more and have more skills in the area. I was liked and respected by colleagues for being a friendly, helpful member of the staff and by showing impeccable work ethic. There were days when we would do 850 covers a day. All between around 12 staff members working two shifts. The restaurant owners showed respect to all members of the staff. Overall good men. They also owned shellfish farms around beautiful Scotland. I couldn't have known that this experience would someday come in handy but I learned how to cook seafood and I enjoyed cooking for people ever since. The restaurant was called Mussel Inn and it was located in the historic part of the capital of the auld Scotland - Edinburgh.
I really recommend this iconic dining establishment on the foodies map of Auld Reekie. I enjoyed being part of this great business as a young man during summer breaks from the University. I learned a lot about preparing seafood and can tell you for sure. They're best in what they do. Mussel Inn is a brand synonymous with fresh produce, best seafood and overall great dining experience ?
