I happen to know that Morrisons is not always the best at treating its staff well - and that?s a major shame because Morrisons are a highlight of the Gyle Centre and it?s the staff that make it that way.
To begin with the Security guards - I?ve met four so far and they are all friendly and happy to help - contrast this to Tesco and you can see why I?m starting with security.
As you walk into the shop staff bustle around at pace, filling online orders but also adopting a helpful open presence which allows you to ask any questions you might have.
It?s clear who the team leaders are and they bring a sense of calmness to the shop floor.
The shop itself has a good range of options, a hot counter where you can buy chicken along with wedgies, chips sausages and other tasty bits and pieces.
Then there?s the salad counter which offers reasonably priced salads which are packed!
Then there?s the deli counter where you can buy cheeses, noodle pots, along side local favourites like scotch eggs and pork pies accompanied by cuisine like pakoras and samosas which I definitely recommend!
And the bakery and fish market - the first pumping out more bread and sweet treat types than you can name, and the second always having a super knowledgeable staff member for all things fish!
It wouldn?t be Morrisons without its reductions though and most days around 6PM you can find all kinds of treats and snacks - (or even full meals!) at 1/2 price.
The staff shine the most in the checkout section though as they go above and beyond for the customer - constantly on the ball all day and still able to build a rapport with so many different people which turns a ?Supermarket into a local.?
The only negative as recently noted is the toilets - given my review of M&S my suggestion would be to relieve yourself there but shop here ;)

The gent's urinals have been covered for some time. The smell is disgusting. The only available one as a result is the disabled toilet which is also disgusting with panels missing behind cistern. Certainly a poor image for a good store.

Visited on 9 August and went to cafe for quick lunch. Ordered via self ordering app but had to queue for a couple of drinks. Till system went down so waited over 10mins to be served.
Food arrived about 20mins after ordering. Food quality was just not there. Chips were rock hard and undercooked, fish fillet was undercooked and lasagne was still a bit gooey. Other customers were also experiencing issues with food quality and sent their chips back upto 3 times and eventually gave up amd left.
Because of the issues we had, we left our food mostly uneaten. On our way hones 30mins later, I had to pull in 3 times as my husband was violently sick.
The duty manager from the cafe was running around checking who had ordered, who was still waiting on food but never asked any of those who had food if it was OK.
We spent £30 on our food but it was definitely not worth it and not anywhere near the quality that used to be served in this branch. If this is the quality/service to expect, then I think this will be the next cafe to close.

A decent large supermarket but it's real asset are the fresh stalls such as bakers, butchers etc.
There is a cafe onsite and public toilets.
