I knew Lidl from France, but it was cheap, most of the time no attractive, I could find what I need but clearly no quality, cheap but not necerraly fair price. But this shop change my mind, since few yeats I visited family in Leith and Lidl come to be my first choice: food, grocery, etc. Thank you to the crew and the management.

One cannot argue with the prices, nor with the quality ? on that front, Lidl delivers. But one must also consider the experience, and here, it is something of a sensory ordeal.
The air is thick with an indescribable staleness, a scent that clings to the aisles as if baked into the very walls. One could close their eyes and easily believe themselves transported to a Soviet-era grocery store, where abundance was a theory and atmosphere an afterthought. The lighting does not help ? harsh, clinical, and utterly devoid of warmth.
One shops here for necessity, not pleasure. A shame, really. If only they could freshen the air as effectively as they cut their prices.

Good range of products. My two issues are that, as a wheelchair user, it can be very difficult to leave the shop if you didn't buy something and that they no longer have baskets that you just carry by hand (normal sized). I can't use the pull along ones, which makes shopping here almost impossible by myself.

Yet again the lady at the self-service has been rude to me. She has blonde curly hair and is in her 50s. I asked to speak to a manager but nothing was done about her. She demanded that I scan the bagsthrough the till, instead of putting through on the bag selection at the end as normal. She dumped out my items onto the till and scanned the bag. She also grabbed a second bag out of my hand and scanned it through the till and I ended up not even using this so I was overcharged. She then came back when the till had an issue with the weight of the items, she proceeded to accuse me of potentially shoplifting as she made comments about me and also insulted my intelligence. This woman makes me feel extremely uncomfortable every time I encounter her in store and is always extremely rude to me. 4:30pm, 30/12/2024. Another reviewer has also complained about the same woman on the same day. Lidl please train this staff member in customer service or replace her.

I am extremely disappointed with the behavior of the staff at Lidl. During my visit at approximately 20:50, 30/12/2024 i encountered a staff member, a woman aged around 50-55, who was very rude and unprofessional.
I paid in cash, but she accused me of not paying without verifying or checking properly. Despite my explanation, she did not return the £10 in cash that was rightfully mine. Her behavior was extremely disrespectful.
When I raised the issue, the manager came, but instead of resolving the matter professionally, the manager also spoke to me in an unacceptable manner, accusing me of lying.
If this is how customers are treated at Lidl, it raises serious concerns about the store?s approach to customer service. I request that this matter be investigated thoroughly.
