Love a visit to Laird & Dog Inn, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is brilliant too, great quality and fairly priced. Nice on a week day or weekend. Would highly recommend.

First time here in a while and it has definitely went downhill. I had the bruscetta starter which was very poor not a bit of garlic, oil or basil in sight just some chopped flavourless cherry tomatoes and onion on toasted bread with a bit balsamic glaze. Onto the main of Greek salad £10.95 extra £3.95 for the chicken which is very expensive for what was no more than a standard bowl portion with probably half a chicken fillet at most. Once the top layer was done the leaves and feta below were drenched in a balsamic vinegar which made it inedible. I love vinegar but this was too much even for me. The only winning choice out of 8 people seemed to be the haggis fritters. As for the service we never got asked once if everything was okay, did we need sauces, would we like another drink. All in all a regretful choice for Mothers Day

Great pub for a bar meal. Friendly, efficient and attentive staff provide high quality meals at very read reasonable cost. Highly recommended.

Had a great meal at the LairdAnd Dog Inn. Good sized portions and all the meals we had were really tasty. Good atmosphere. Will be back!

We had dinner here and the restaurant staff are very incredibly rude. It really spoiled our family meal. The lowlights would definitely be the older waitress ignoring us upon arrival, too busy with her laptop at the podium to say "Good Evening", then moaning to us about other staff members overbooking the restaurant (it was us and another table the whole time). The younger waitress brought drinks over and one of the guests asked for another drink, then was told "well are you ordering anything else, because I have already been back??" Jeez - talk about poor service. I would not come back to this place, with the current standards of guest service. Poor. The food was OK - I would avoid the halloumi fries, as these are obviously cheap and frozen. My burger was quite cold too. The fish looked OK though and the chips were decent enough too. There are so many other excellent dining options very nearby, so my advice is to go somewhere you are treated better. It seems they are only really interested in their pub customers, who kept coming through for a chat and were clearly drunk.Food & drinks: Avoid it - not worth the aggro

Great lunch escape ....First time there doubtfully the last ...Food was good ...prices reasonable ... service good though not very clear in entering where to go etc . Would recommend.Other half liked that they did small portions.Bright ,clean , friendly

Great pub with great value rooms.Stayed here en route to Edinburgh Airport.Rooms are basic, very clean and has everything you need.The bed has a comfortable mattress and pillows.Bathroom has power shower, basic assortment of toiletries and towels are provided.Possibly the best part of the stay was the breakfast, a Scottish breakfast, including tatty cakes. All the food is sourced locally.The staff are friendly and helpful.
