This place was our favorite place during our week of Edinburgh trip. I think we went here 4 times? Breakfast menu selection is great including our favorite Kili breakfast and the veggie version. The cafe itself is pretty small so during rush hour it might be hard to find a spot to sit. Anyways, we were shocked to find out that all of ?cafes to try edinburgh? did not include kilimanjaro coffee! Trust us and give it a try!

Stopped here for a coffee while I was in the local area. I do like a good coffee and this was great coffee. The service is fantastic and I would certainly come back. There?s lots to choose from on the menu, including juices and great cakes.

I ordered the Kili breakfast with a hot chocolate, and it was delightful! The café?s interior felt wonderfully cozy and homely?I?ll definitely be coming back. That said, £5 for a hot chocolate is quite steep.

Been here a few times and have had really mixed experiences.
The coffee and cake is always very nice, however on this particular day the drinks were wrong, and it took 30 minutes to get our cake (I asked and it was done and handed to me in 30 seconds). We also had to request for the table to be cleaned- the woman brushed the crumbs off the table and straight onto our dog!
I think a lot of it depends on the staff working. Sometimes the staff barely acknowledges you, and other times they are friendly. It's not the cheapest place and it is very loud so I think the owner should consider training staff and reevaluating over £4 for a small coffee that comes out warm not hot every time

My friend and I ordered avocado and poached egg on sourdough toast. The poached eggs on both our meals (×4) were solid more like a hardboiled egg. The toast wasn't toasted and the entire meal was cold. I did go and ask for butter to spread on the toast to try and improve it. I explained that the eggs were solid and let's face it the most important thing about poached eggs are their runniness. There was a sorry but not a suggestion of replacing them with fresh runny ones. The staff then didn't seem to want to clear our plates , maybe out of embarrassment. So we sat with them in front of us fir about 30mins, which wasn't pleasant considering they had our un edible food on them .
