Very poor experienceComplained to the desk about the shower fan exhaust not working build up of smog.Showers don't have full curtain or dividers. After you are done half of the room is soaking wet.Overpriced and over hyped. My experience of a budget hotel was a lot better. Sorry but I have to be honest.

The service is very attentive and the location opposite the station is very convenient for early departures. The station side rooms are a little noisy despite the double glazing.

Location is amazing, just next to royal mile. Breakfast has good options for non vegetarians and decent bread, Omelette, pancake options for vegetarians. Friendly staff with very nice service.

It is located in a perfect location to say the least. Just outside Waverly station (where there are also car rentals) and passing directly from the back of the hotel you are on the Royal Mile and therefore in the center of Edinburgh's Old Town. Very elegant and well-kept structure, kind and friendly staff. The rooms are perfectly soundproofed and the beds very comfortable, I slept like heaven for two nights. Breakfast served on the ground floor in the rich restaurant room with really good products. Highly recommended!

we stayed for one night. the hotel was comfy, quiet and in an ideal location for a city center visit. The staff really went out their way to be helpful. Jordan and Sullivan at the bar were highly entertaining and even when 2 vistiors were being unreasonable about the time of last orders, they remained polite and very helpful. Emmanuel was so welcoming and helpful, as was James on reception. You really did feel the place was well run. fantastic breakfast and good view, would definitley use the hotel again

Booked 50+ rooms for a team event in Edinburgh.Great location just a short walk from Waverley Train Station. All the staff we interacted with went above and beyond.Rooms were modern and some had fantastic views of the city.Breakfast was better than most hotels, interesting variety.Wouldn't hesitate to book again.Walkability: Very close to Waverley Train Station. The footpath approaching the hotel wasn't great (lots of construction work) especially with a suitcase but I found the opposite footpath to be more comfortable. Great location to City centre and Edinburgh nightlife.

Leonardo Royal HotelIf your thinking of heading to Edinburgh and are looking for a friendly hotel in a great location to all the sites then let me recommend the Leonardo Royal Hotel. The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from Edinburgh Waverley Station. We arrived on monday afternoon and entered the hotel. At reception we were given a lovely welcome before being given all the information we needed about the hotel. Our room was an Executive Double plus single room on the sixth floor and was kept clean and stocked by the friendly hotel cleaners. This gave us great views overlooking Waverley station as well as princess street.Unfortunately we only used the hotel for breakfast which had everything you could wish for (ie. Tea and Coffee , juices , cereal , meats , cakes , pastries and all the ingredients you need to create your own style of a full english breakfast including haggis.) You will also be made very welcome by every member of staff who are all so friendly and can also offer any advice required for your visit to this wonderful city.As I said the hotel is in a fabulous location and between 10 - 15 minutes walk from most of the landmarks including Edinburgh Castle , Calton Hill , Royal Mile , Princess Street Scottish Parliament Building and the National Museum of Scotland. Buses and trams are also close by meaning you can also visit the lovely town of Leith. This was our first visit to Edinburgh and I?m pretty sure it won?t be our last. I also think that when we do return there?s a strong chance we will once again choose the Leonardo Royal Hotel.

We had the most spectacular time here! My best friend and I stayed a night with our two toddlers and it was luxury from start to finish, with staff being so helpful and such gorgeous decor from reception to the rooms. We had complimentary prosecco on arrival and the breakfast was brilliant! Perfect location, right around the corner from Royal Mile and just up from Waverley. Run, don't walk! Will definitely be staying here again.
