Great location between multiple tourist hotspot. Based on the price for the room it's quite a value, only complain is that there would be nice with somewhere to hang the towels and not just up above the shower frame.

Date of stay 26th to 29th September 2024.
The location of this is great and your near the centre but I encountered quite a few problems while staying at this hotel. The first problem was that you cannot open a window when you find the room is stuffy. This would not be a problem if the air conditioner and bathroom fan worked properly but unfortunately for me they didn't. I followed the instruction card in the room but the air conditioner would not stay on for more than 10 mins at a time no matter what I did. The other problems I found where that there is absolutely no 4g phone signals from outside this hotel due to the very thick concrete walls. This means that you cannot make or receive text do whatsapp video calls or make phone calls on your mobile inside this hotel. This is not helped by the claim from Premier inn that they have free wifi. This is very misleading as I found the free wifi to be unusable. Firstly the free wifi is limited deliberately to 0.80kb which is the same as the internet connection on a early 1990,s computer. The speed of the free wifi service should be set too at least 7mb minimum to gave you a chance to use the wifi propertly.
This rubbish free wifi service allows you to just send a text, email and send a whats-app text but that's it. You cannot do wifi calling or view websites from this free wifi as the data speed has been just set too low. I was told by the staff that you want use the working wifi service then you need to pay a £5 per day for the premium wifi.
The other problem I noticed was that only 10 of the tv channels actually worked even though the listing was there for all the other channels. I thought at first that this just was just on my tv but when I asked my friends in the other rooms to check their tv it turned out that is was the same in the other rooms as well.
I did report all this to the girl at the checkout but all she said was if you want all this you need to pay more for the premium plus rooms.
The only good thing was the breakfast buffet is good value at £10.99.
Noteworthy details: No 4g phone signals from outside whatsoever due to very thick walls and free Wifi is unusable with a data speed set to 0.80kb

Great hotel, great location. Great staff. Great price for the area. Just didn't like how the lights are programmed. They're basically all on or all off - there's a half on option but its almost just as bright as fully on and you can't turn on the light in the bathroom on its own. Wouldn't stop me from staying here again but it's kind of annoying to deal with.
Walkability: Close enough to walk to everything

Spot on, clean and cost effective. We will return

Absolutely the worst bed layout that I have ever seen. One double anchored to the wall means I have to climb over my wife when getting out of bed.
Rooms: Shit, miniature room.

The hotel is in a great location. Close to the station and main attractions.
Some staff were rude but others were helpful and friendly.
The rooms were in not the best shape and a little dusty. The lighting system was also a bit glitchy.
All in all, decent hotel for a short stay.

This location can't be beat. It's right around the corner from the Royal Mile. The rooms are compact but have everything you need, especially for a single person. The only recommendation I would have would be breakfast. There was no protein on the "breakfast bar" except for yogurt. The manager said they were working on that. They have air conditioning in all the rooms and the windows do not open. I had issues with my air conditioner one night and the manager quickly and with a lot of support moved me to another room. Very friendly, very clean, very helpful. What more can you want? The TV had a casting ability so you could watch your phone on the TV.
Rooms: Rubens are compact but they have a double bed and room under the bed for your luggage. Bathrooms are plenty big enough, I've seen much smaller in Europe. Everything was clean. Air conditioning did not work in my first room but I was moved rooms. Windows do not open. TV has ability to cast from your phone.
Nearby activities: You're right around the corner from the Royal Mile and Old Town Edinburgh. Close walk to everything you want to see.

Insanely bad. The lights and air conditioning in my bedroom turned on every time I even moved a muscle. Impossible to get to sleep or to stay asleep, as the settings didn't allow me just to turn the lights off, without being woken up again minutes later. Came downstairs to request a room change at 2:15am - have been waiting 20 minutes so far, and nobody is at the front desk, even though clearly some member of staff should be here, since they've left their ID card on the desk.

A simple hotel near the center. Good for one night, but no more! I can't comment on the bar, but it's there. Check in via PC / online. Purchase service! Bar and restaurant staff nice. Kitchen a complete disaster, only got a steak medium on the second try (I consider it standard). Burgerpetti warmed up from the microwave and otherwise frozen goods either in the Bing machine or deep fryer! All in all, it's better to have a kebab at the train station, it's better value for money!!!

Just off the Royal mile and close to the station. It is basic, but the bed was excellent, and the facilities were clean. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

We booked the hotel for 3 nights. It is about a 5 minute walk from the train station. From the airport it takes about 40 minutes by bus and walk. We were greeted warmly, even though we didn't check in until late in the evening. The rooms are only cleaned on request, but this will be communicated to you when you check in. The room was warm and clean, the bed was large and comfortable. Relatively small and quite cramped, but completely fine for us as we were there to visit the city. There is a small breakfast buffet on site, but it probably only consists of coffee and small pastries or sweets. We didn't use it, so I can't say anything about it. There are a number of shops, cafes and bakeries where you can have breakfast/brunch, e.g. the Brewdog one door away. We were very satisfied.

Room was super small, as expected. It would have been a lot better if the one and only chair in the room was usable. It wasn't. The chair was SO GROSS. It looked like 5 or 6 people had been assaulted on it. Then it was used as a public urinal for a long weekend. Finally it was discarded in a dumpster only to be salvaged by a Premier employee and placed in my room.

Breakfast very good, staff very friendly, room really small (maybe little too small), bathroom could be cleaner (it's ok, but...)
Generally it's a good hotel, located near Royal Mile, next to Costa Cafe and Brewdog Restaurant.
