We bought a car battery from Halfords Belfast by telling the registration number of our car, then we fit it by ourselves at home. Two days later, when my daughter drove to Edinburgh from Belfast, it showed Battery Low warning again. So she went to this shop, the sales person and manager were friendly and professional by acknowledging the mistake we were offered the wrong battery in the first place, then exchange to the right one straightaway. Even it has been causing some stress to my daughter as she was excited to drive to Scotland to start her postgraduate course, how this matter had been handled in Edinburgh made things easier. So keep it up, the team at Halfords Seafield Edinburgh, Good Job! Also Scott from Halfords MCConechys Leith Autocenter had been very helpful and professional as well.

Shocking customer service,was served by male assistant,.
Asked gor help regarding an oil filter for my car.
He took my reg and handed me a bit of paper with the product code and was left for me to hunt down product (n the green boxes).
In the end I just bought 1l of oil instead of 5l.
How exactly are the staff trained in customer service begs belief.
Will never step back through the door

I ordered a bike for my grandson and paid for it to be built (@£10 extra) as I live in Ireland. I also ordered mudguards expecting them to be attached to the bike but when he collected the bike he was handed the mudguards separately. Not quite the service I expected although he is delighted by the bike.

Poor Customer Service and Communication.
I booked a free air conditioning check for my car at Halfords, but the appointment turned out to be a complete waste of time. When I arrived, I was told they couldn?t carry out the service due to a lack of necessary stock. No one bothered to inform me beforehand, and I received no phone call or message to cancel the appointment or explain the situation.
This lack of communication is unacceptable. I wasted my valuable time traveling to the store for nothing. If Halfords had simply contacted me, I could have avoided the inconvenience.
I do not recommend this store for any in-store car services. Their customer service and reliability are seriously lacking.

Went into the store, feeling hopeful that I'd be able to chat with some of the staff and learn a bit about e-bikes, then try on some helmets for size. Walked around the e-bikes for a good bit, before it became apparent that no one was going to ask if they could assist me. Wandered down to the till and 3 lads are sat there doing absolutely nothing, whilst the rest of the store is unattended (keeping in mind, this was at like midday, so it wasn't busy). Asked a few questions and was given the most tepid, unreceptive responses. Went back to try on some of the helmets and there wasn't a single size L/XL anywhere. Just walked out of the store, frustrated that I wasted my time travelling here.
In the end, I caved and purchased one of their e-bikes (Carrera Subway) online. I had them build it for me since I'm pushed for time lately. The bike arrived a day early, but the screw attaching one of the breaks to the handlebar was completely loose to the point where you can spin it around. Thankfully, I've got some tools of my own, so I was able to sort it, but giving someone a bike with brakes that don't function is downright dangerous, not to mention, I didn't receive the build service that I paid for.
Wouldn't recommend Halfords. For now, I'm giving 2 stars. I bought one of Halfords' own brand bikes, so when it inevitably lets me down, I'll reduce the rating to 1...

On Saturday, 3rd August 2024, I had an interim service scheduled for 8:30 am at Halfords Autocentre. I parked directly in front of the garage, planning to leave my car there for the day. However, at 15:45, I was informed by the garage that they could not service my vehicle due to a staffing shortage and heavy workload. As a result, I had no choice but to pick up my car at 17:05, as I couldn?t leave it until Monday.
My overall experience was disappointing. Not only did I have to reschedule the service, but the work took several days to complete, and the final bill ended up being quite high. I rated it 3/5 because, despite the issues, the mechanics were professional, showed me the work done, and offered free advice to help me pass the MOT later this year.
To make matters worse, I then received a £100 fine from Euro Car Parks for a parking violation, despite parking in front of the garage where your website states that parking is free for customers, without specifying a designated area.
I contacted Halfords Customer Service immediately upon receiving the PCN, but I did not receive a response for several weeks. As a result, I felt compelled to pay the fine to avoid the risk of it increasing.

If they tell you they?re busy and your car will need to stay overnight at the garage, make sure you specifically ask them to inform Euro Car Parks. Otherwise, you could end up with a £100 fine on top of your ?free? brake check.This is the second time it?s happened?an absolute waste of time chasing Halfords to sort it out.

Just wanted to take the time to shout out Grant in the garage. Went in for my appointment with a tire issue he let me know at work I needed a new one took the time to go through all my options didn?t hard sell me , took the time to understand my financial needs. Called me back when it was fitted and even stayed later past 6 tonight to make sure I got my car back same day ! This kind gesture made a very hard day bearable and it?s appreciated. I encourage my team to get reviews in so I?m sticking to giving credit where credit is due. Top service

Two wasted trips to the store, and multiple phone calls and you still couldn't find the bike helmet I ordered and paid for online. Wasted 2 days waiting for you to not find it so my son doesn't get his birthday present on time.
