I'm so happy! Today I picked up my glasses ??? They're so beautiful and I'm so happy because they really help me, I had bad experience in another optical lenses was so bad and I couldn't see normal and I did 2 or 3 eye tests and it was wrong, but in this optical mister ophthalmologist did me 2 test one simple and next with special test and he is really professional of this! My boyfriend also did glasses in this optical and the same happy, I'll recommend this optical everyone !

I had such a lovely experience with Claire and Claire helping me to get set up for my first prescription glasses. I felt extremely welcomed, cared for and listened to throughout the whole process and I've got some fab new glasses on order!I also observed the care taken of a very elderly client whilst I was trying on glasses and it was fantastic - the staff were patient and kind without being patronising. 100% recommend.

Downes are simply amazing.The excellent team here have looked after my eyes for years and I've never felt anything less than perfectly safe, happy and confident them.It was Downes who guarded my eyes while I was on medicine that could have harmed my vision. They knew what exactly to do, had the experience and skill to look after me.The staff here are great, too! So patient with me! I might quibble over which letter is clearer in the exam or blink when the machine is scanning my eye and they're never phased. Picking frames? They are saints.Going to Downes has saved me mega money because not only do they not push for a sale they even help repair my glasses for free.Furthermore, in a world of horrid glasses monopolies, Downes has a robust independent range.Open on Saturday! Amazing, it means I don't have to take a holiday to experience all this exceptional service.

Would give 10 stars. Great optician. They check your eyesight thoroughly, different test including inside of Your eyes. First ever that explained me that floaters I see is nothing unusual. Other opticians had no idea what I'm talking about. Very good with children. Great selection of frames (including ones with attachable polarised sunglasses!). I've made a mistake of taking lenses with no coating, and wrong frames. They did change them for the right ones with no problems. Exemplary service and kindness. No rush, they give You all the time You need to make a right choice. Really good prices for premium quality lenses and frames.
