I HAVE JUST MOVED TO GORGIE, I WAS HAPPY TO SEE A SCOTMID WITH POST OFFICE INSIDE, THEY R A BIT STEAP WITH PRICES EXCEPT REDUCED ITEMS+THE STAFF HV BEEN VERY FRIENDLY BUT THE POST OFFICE STAFF WELL ARE JUST RUDE, IGNORANT+ MADE MYSELF ANGRY WHEN I LEFT, NO THANKYOU, NO HELLO, NO NOTHING, I GET THEY R HOT WITH THE NICE WEATHER BUT WHATEVER THEIR IS THEIR PROBLEM KEEP IT OUT OF WORK SO MY STARS R FOR THE SCOTMID BIT, I THINK THEIR BOSS SHOULD HV A WORD AS SOME DAY SOME1 WON'T TAKE THEIR ACTIONS

Only been to the post office inside. Of which staff (post office staff) were lovely. From what I seen on the shop floor... Good selection of high quality food products. Although, little to no cleaning products, excluding sanitary products, of which they have. Behind the counter staff (scotmid staff) were ignorant and rude.

Have never been so offended in my whole life, my wife ,my wife asked if the cash counter could put a letter in with the post, it was a grey envelope, they then shouted at her don't come any closer we don't except covid swabs ,it was hair bands for her neice, since then we as a couple have been followed and looked upon with suspicion as if we had done something wrong, the service we now get has really went down hill not that it was much good before, ignorance is not a good look in sales yet they don't seem to care, the well rounded Saturday security gard isa disgrace that needs to in a job that doesn't have human interaction in it,total oaf only word for it

Poor service. The older woman who works there spitefully gave me change Icouldn't use for the bus after I had asked for smaller change. I had to spend extra travelling on my way to work. RudeEdit- Now when I do shop here I have not seen her at all and all the other staff have been lovely.

Most staff are super efficient but some serve you as-and-when it suits them without calling for assistance even the queue is 7-8 people deep. More often than not I'm walking out in frustration. Shame, as it was a well-run operation once upon a time.

The Scotmid, is my little local corner shop as it were, despite being a bit larger than that but it is pretty awesome and the Sainsbury's round the corner could take note! It's local, it has all major food groups and the prices aren't bad. From emergency milk supplies to being tempted by the chocolate offers, the Scotmid caters for locals really well. The baking section is particularly good and there can be great offers on wines too now that it is part of the Co-op group. Not so good for gluten free but I can live with that. The store itself is clean and well organised (though the milk move a few weeks ago still confuses me) and staff are friendly and helpful. How can Sainsbury's learn from the little Scotmid - the queues! I often go to the Scotmid instead of Sainsbury's as there is always bloody queues at Sains Murrayfield and after a hard day at work, I just want to head in, grab supplies and go home. The Scotmid staff are really good at checking who is where and getting tills manned when needed - perfect!

A fresh and bright branch of the much loved Scotmid, you can stock up on groceries here, buy some classic Blossom Hill, get the latest magazine or just get some snacks if you're feeling a little peckish. As far as corner shops go, Scotmid's are great and they always have a great selection of goodies to choose from. Clean, well organised and well stocked, I really can't complain.

This Scotmid is shiny and new after recently being refurbished. It has a much better lay out, and shock horror some staff to work behind the tills! Which means if there is one person in front of you in the queue, the nice check out boy will buzz for someone else to come and everyone moves along quickly and quietly. Note to security guard. I know it is Gorgie so everyone is a suspect, but do you really need to follow me around every time I come in? Especially as you see me make my purchases every time I come in!

Average size store with good selection of products. Have a very good fruit and veg sections, with many reduced products, it does provide a good source for cheap fruit and veg. It does have wide range of bakery products, alcohol products and all the magazines and newspapers that would be present in much bigger stores. The prices are quite compatitive. It is worth to check the store often to see the reduced price section, as you can buy some good products for a real small price. Good to top up your shopping.
